Gillaspie will be placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with back issues, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie has dealt with back issues at multiple different points this season, and it now appears his ailing back will force him onto the disabled list for the second time this season. It's still unclear how long he'll remain sidelined with the injury at this point, but the hope is that he'll be ready to go after the minimum 10-day stay. Jae-Gyun Hwang is expected to have his contract purchased from Triple-A in a corresponding roster move.

Gillaspie (back) is batting second and playing third base in Friday's lineup against the Mets, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie is back in the lineup for the first time since May 10. The club has yet to make a corresponding move for his activation. They'll be hoping he can improve upon the .133/.216/.156 batting line he owned before the injury and can produce more like the .262/.307/.440 hitter he was over 101 games last season.

Gillaspie (back) is fully healthy but will remain with Triple-A Sacramento for the time being in order to receive additional at-bats, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie hasn't appeared in a major-league game since May 10, so the Giants will give the third baseman plenty of time to get his rhythm back during his minor-league rehab assignment. Gillaspie is currently 4-for-20 at the plate during his assignment, but should return to the majors sooner than later.

Gillaspie (back) had his rehab assignment paused after going down with the flu, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
It seems like one thing after the other is getting in the way of Gillaspie's recovery, although it seems like his back is still in working order during all of this. This doesn't seem like a major issue, so expect him to resume his rehab assignment in the next few days before returning to the Giants within the next week or so. Once he returns, though, he may be limited to a reserve role now that Eduardo Nunez is back at the hot corner.

Gillaspie (back) resumed his minor-league rehab assignment with High-A San Jose on Saturday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie had been nearing a return from the DL after playing five games with Triple-A Sacramento, but incurred a setback which held him back for 10 days. He'll likely play a few more games in the minors before the Giants move him back to the big leagues, where he hasn't played since May 10 due to back spasms. Regardless, he could be pressed for playing time upon his return due to the hot bat of Eduardo Nunez and the recent emergence of Christian Arroyo at third base.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Gillaspie (back) is expected to come off the disabled list sometime before June, Alec Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie, who was been on the disabled list since May 11 with back spasms, is nearing a return to the big club after completing five rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento. It's unclear when exactly he'll be activated, though Bochy said it would be sometime during the Giants' next homestand, which runs May 26 to May 31.

Gillaspie was placed on the 10-day disabled list May 11 with back spasms and will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alec Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie had been off to a slow start at the plate (6-for-45) before landing on the disabled list with back spasms last week. It's unclear as to how many rehab games the infielder will need to play, but he's eligible to return as soon as May 21.

Gillaspie will start at third base and bat seventh in the order Monday against the Mets, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Brandon Crawford (groin) recently moving to the 10-day disabled list, manager Bruce Bochy has moved Christian Arroyo over from third base to shortstop, allowing Gillaspie to pick up a second straight start at the hot corner. Gillaspie still figures to find himself out of the lineup against left-handed pitching, and given his dearth of power against righties, it's difficult to envision him delivering much value to fantasy owners outside of NL-only formats.

Gillaspie is out of the lineup for Friday's game agaisnt the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
With Brandon Crawford returning to the lineup, Eduardo Nunez will slide back over to third and send Gillaspie back to the bench. Gillaspie figures to continue seeing at-bats primarily as a pinch hitter and will only get starts when players like Crawford or Nunez need off days.
