Gillaspie is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie will take a seat after starting three straight games, giving way to Ruben Tejada at the hot corner. The 28-year-old has recently reached 100 plate appearances with the Giants, over which he owns a .255/.307/.383 slash line.

Gillaspie went 1-for-2 with an RBI in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants continue to take a safe approach with Matt Duffy (Achilles) on the disabled, opening up playing time for Gillaspie in the process. He should continue to see regular at-bats against right-handed pitchers to start the second half.

Gillaspie fell a homer shy of the cycle Friday, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored in a win over Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
With injuries to the likes of Joe Panik (concussion) and Matt Duffy (Achilles), playing time has opened up for the 28-year-old veteran. He is showing a different approach at the plate than he had with the White Sox, lowering his strikeouts (12.6 K%) and showing a little more pop (.150 ISO) on his way to a career-best .288/.345/.438 slash line. He probably isn't worth adding in standard leagues, but he could be decent fill-in at the hot corner in deeper and NL-only formats.

Gillaspie went 4-for-5 with a pair of runs scored in Tuesday's loss to Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie has been the main beneficiary of playing time with Matt Duffy (Achilles) on the disabled list. He is batting .414 (12-for-29) dating back to June 21, but only two of those hits were of the extra-base variety, so his value remains limited in most formats.

Gillaspie is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Switch-hitter Ramiro Pena will step in at hot corner against right-hander Jeremy Hellickson, pushing Gillaspie to the bench following back-to-back starts. Gillaspie and Pena appear in line to continue splitting third base duties with Matt Duffy (Achilles) out through the All-Star break, but it does not look like it will be a strict platoon.

Gillaspie was in the starting lineup Thursday, going 1-for-4 with a run scored in a win over Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
It was presumed that Gillaspie would platoon at third with Matt Duffy (Achilles) on the disabled list, but he got a start against Jon Niese on Thursday. The right side of the platoon, Ramiro Pena, got the start at short with Brandon Crawford getting a day off, so Gillaspie was forced into the lineup. With an unproven right-hander on the mound Friday (Zach Eflin), Gillaspie should get the start and be a decent value play in DFS formats.

Gillaspie went 4-for-5 with a homer, two runs scored and four RBI in Tuesday's 15-4 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie was the biggest contributor in a game in which almost every Giants hitter had it going. This effort more than doubled his season RBI total, and raised his slugging percentage from .273 to .388. Gillaspie didn't get much chatter in the wake of Matt Duffy's (Achilles) injury, but he earned himself more playing time if nothing else with this effort. With Duffy out until after the All-Star break, there could be some short-term upside here.

Gillaspie entered Sunday's game for the injured Matt Duffy (Achilles) and hit a double and drove in two in a win over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy's injury isn't considered serious, but it is worth noting that he dealt with a similar injury during spring training. Gillaspie is the likely choice to fill in at third base against righties. His .159/.245/.273 slash line doesn't scream "must-add," but there is potential for counting stats for any starters in a Giants lineup that is clicking right now.

Gillaspie entered Tuesday's contest as a pinch hitter and struck out in his single at-bat.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie's batting average continues to fall, and is now at a mere .171. Despite the Giants temporarily losing Hunter Pence (hamstring) and Angel Pagan (hamstring), manager Bruce Bochy hasn't made any lineup changes that will incorporate Gillaspie in a larger capacity than pinch hitting. This isn't much of a surprise, as 15 at-bats have passed since Gillaspie's last hit and his on-base percentage is just .256.

Gillaspie received his first start of the season and delivered with a solo homer in Wednesday's loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Gillaspie had been used primarily as a pinch-hitter since being called up April 22, but due to Joe Panik's (groin) injury, he was the first infielder to replace a resting starter (Matt Duffy). Barring any additional injuries, Gillaspie will continue to be used in a bench role going forward.
