An MRI on Ricky Romero's left knee revealed no structural damage. Romero has inflammation where the quadriceps muscle connects to the kneecap, but it's not expected to be an issue going forward. Although the knee won't be a concern, Romero will obviously have major question marks attached to him heading into next season.

Ricky Romero was sent for precautionary tests on his left knee after leaving Saturday's start with discomfort. The pain he's experiencing is coming from where the quad meets the kneecap. Romero will finish his disastrous 2012 campaign with a hideous 9-14 record, 5.77 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over 181 innings. The left-hander is going to carry major question marks into 2013.

Ricky Romero was removed from Saturday's game with left knee discomfort. He lasted just three inning before being replaced by Shawn Hill. The Jays are calling his removal precautionary, so this won't affect his offseason. After starting the year with eight wins in his first nine decisions, Romero has been an unmitigated disaster since the All-Star break, losing 13 straight decisions at one point. Under contract though 2016, the Jays will hope for better return on their investment next season.

Ricky Romero picked up a win despite struggling again Monday, as he allowed four runs on eight hits and four walks over just five innings in a 9-5 victory over the Orioles. It could have been much worse. Romero left in the sixth with the bases loaded and no one out, but Brad Lincoln got out of it after allowing just one run to score. Despite another poor effort, the lefty won for the first time since June 22, breaking a string of 13 straight losses. He'll finish out the season with a start against the Yankees.

Ricky Romero wasn't great Wednesday but limited the damage in a no-decision against the Yankees, allowing one run on seven hits and five walks over six innings. Romero extended his AL-leading walk total to 99, but he somehow managed to hold the Yankees in check. Bizarrely, he's allowed just six runs over three starts against the Yankees over the last five weeks but permitted a whopping 21 over his other four outings. He'll take a 5.72 ERA and 1.64 WHIP into Baltimore next week.

Ricky Romero was horrid again Wednesday, allowing three runs on eight hits and four walks over just four innings in a loss to the Mariners. Romero has now issued a league-leading 94 walks this season, and he also served up his 20th homer of the year. The Jays should exercise some mercy and just shut Romero down at this point, but so far they've been hesitant to do so. If he isn't shut down, Romero will carry a 5.87 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in a matchup against the Yankees that figures to be a bloodbath.

Ricky Romero's next start will be next Wednesday against the Mariners. Romero was shelled for seven runs in less than two innings on Sunday in a loss to the Rays and now has a 5.85 ERA on the year. The Jays are hoping the extra rest will help. He'll get a full nine days between outings.

Ricky Romero was obliterated in Sunday's loss to the Rays, surrendering seven runs on eight hits in only one-plus innings of work. Romero also walked one and didn't record a strikeout in the brief outing. Evan Longoria got the scoring started with an RBI double in the first inning, and then all everything fell apart in the second. Ben Francisco started the inning with a solo homer, then a walk and five straight hits chased Romero from the contest. He's been one of the biggest disappointments in the league this season, posting an 8-13 record and horrifying 5.80 ERA. He'll again look to turn things around when he takes on the Red Sox in Boston on Saturday.

It was another rough night at the office for Ricky Romero in Wednesday's loss to the White Sox, as he allowed six runs on eight hits and two walks in just six innings. Romero struck out five, and served up a two-run homer to Dewayne Wise in the fourth. Romero had seemed to be getting on track heading into tonight's outing, tossing three consecutive quality starts, so hopefully it's just a bump in the road. As it is, the five-run outing was his seventh of the season. He'll bring an ugly 5.47 ERA and 1.52 WHIP into Tuesday's start in Detroit.

Ricky Romero turned in a very strong performance in Saturday's no-decision against the Athletics, allowing just one run on three hits over seven innings of work. Romero fanned five, and the only run allowed was Derek Norris' RBI double in the second inning. Romero had been brutal recently, with a 11.48 ERA over his last three starts, so hopefully this strong effort finally gets him back on track. He'll look to keep it rolling when he takes on the Yankees at home on Friday.
