Ricky Romero hit rock bottom in Wednesday's 16-0 loss to the A's, allowing eight runs on four hits and six walks while recording only four outs. For good measure, he mixed in a wild pitch. Toronto's would-be ace in the absence of Brandon Morrow has now allowed at least four runs in 10 of his past 12 starts, and been tagged for more than six tallies four times in the process. Even with the Jays miraculously short on arms, it's fair to wonder if Romero will be skipped his next turn through the rotation. If not, he'll bring a 5.75 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 85/68 K/BB ratio into his Monday start in Seattle.

Ricky Romero yielded four runs over six innings Saturday as part of a no-decision against the Phillies. Romero allowed seven hits while striking out three and walking one. He also hit Brian Schneider twice. The big blow was a three-run homer by John Mayberry, Jr. in the top of the third inning. Romero now owns a 4.28 ERA through his first 14 starts this season. Given the rash of injuries in the starting rotation, he's going to need to do better for the Blue Jays to have any shot at making a postseason run.

Ricky Romero stifled the White Sox hot bats on Tuesday, allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits to pick up his seventh victory of the season. Romero walked one and struck out four on the night. He improves to 7-1 on the season, lowering his ERA to 4.02 in the process. Most of the damage done against him came courtesy of a pair of home runs from the left-handed hitting A.J. Pierzynski and Adam Dunn. He'll go in search of his eighth victory when he takes on the Braves in Atlanta on Sunday.

Ricky Romero gave up five runs over eight innings in a victory Wednesday over the Rangers. Romero temporarily lost it in the fifth, walking three straight batters to start the inning and giving up four runs in all. Other that than, though, he was great. Those were the only walks he issued all afternoon, and from the sixth through the eighth innings, the only batter to reach against him did so on a Kelly Johnson error. Romero is 4-0 with a 3.64 ERA.
