Crisp was 0-5 on Friday night to drop his average on the season to a paltry .182.
EDGE Analysis
Crisp has now started 7 of the first 11 A's games, putting Billy Burns and his .294 average from 2015 on the pine for a lot of games. Crisp has managed a homer and three steals so far this year, but his current .229 OBP on the heels of his .175 average in 2015 does not merit a spot atop the A's lineup. The A's are trying to get what they can from Crisp while he is actually healthy, but he currently looks like a shell of his former self at the dish.

Crisp is starting in left field and hitting second in Wednesday's game against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The A's will give the struggling Khris Davis the day off Wednesday, and Crisp is the beneficiary, moving to second in the order, behind Billy Burns. So far, when he's been in the lineup, it has primarily been in the leadoff role, so the fact that the A's want him hitting near the top even when Burns is leading off is notable. If Davis, who leads MLB with 14 strikeouts, continues to struggle, Crisp's playing time should continue to trend up.

Crisp is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Crisp has gotten three consecutive starts while notching five hits and a pair of stolen bases in that span, so it appears to be just a regular day of rest. Billy Butler will serve as the team's designated hitter and bat fifth against Hector Santiago.

Crisp (hamstring) will bat leadoff in Friday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
After being out of the lineup for a few days, Crisp will draw back into the lineup for Friday's matchup against the A's regional rivals. Crisp was able to ramp up his baseball activities each of the last few days, culminating in him going through his full pre-game warmup ahead of Thursday's contest. He'll hit atop the order Friday and will hopefully be able to make it through the contest without tweaking his hamstring so that he can start the season at full strength.

Crisp will test out his hamstring in pregame Thursday and barring a setback, he will start in center field for Friday's exhibition game, Joe Stiglich of CSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder has been battling some hamstring soreness this week, but he was able to hit in the cage Wednesday and has progressed to on-field work in advance of Thursday's game. He won't play Thursday, but if his workout goes off without a hitch, Crisp will draw back in for a late-spring tuneup Friday.

Crisp (hamstring) will hit in the batting cage Wednesday but is unlikely to receive any at-bats in the game, Susan Slugger of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury isn't expected to keep the veteran outfielder out of any regular season contests, but the Athletics appear to be holding him out of spring games in order to get him as healthy as possible for the regular season. That being said, Crisp is still expected to only play a part-time role to start the season, which could give him more days off than normal regardless of whether he's hurt or not.

Crisp was scratched from Tuesday's spring game due to mild hamstring tightness, Joe Stiglich of Comcast SportsNet California reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Bob Melvin said Crisp could have played through the injury if Tuesday's game were a regular-season contest. Even if this is a non-issue, the oft-injured Crisp is likely looking at a part-time role to open the season.

Crisp is healthy and Manager Bob Melvin indicated that Crisp is able to play all out in a way he couldn't last year, reports John Hickey of Bay area News Group.
EDGE Analysis
Crisp missed a majority of the 2015 with a neck injury, playing only 44 games and hitting .175 with zero homers. With the addition of Khris Davis, Crisp does not have a set position to play regularly, but while healthy, he should find some at-bats at DH, center field and left field. Crisp is only three years removed from a 20/20 campaign in 2013, but with his neck injury still lingering (he would need career-ending surgery to completely fix it) and the A's crowded outfield, he does not appear to have an immediate path to fantasy relevance.

Crisp indicates that his neck, wrist and elbow are all fine and is taking daily batting practice, reports John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group.
EDGE Analysis
Crisp's role and playing time with the A's are up in the air entering spring training with the acquisition of Khris Davis. If healthy, Crisp should see some at-bats split between left field, center field and designated hitter, but those are all spots that are already taken on the A's depth chart. There is also the issue of Crisp's neck issues that have plagued him the last two years and could be fixed with surgery, but that would require Crisp to retire. He opted for rest and rehab over the off-season and says" my neck is my neck" which does not sound or feel especially optimistic. If Crisp can stay healthy, he will likely need an injury or extremely poor performance by Billy Burns or Billy Butler to find himself with full-time at-bats.

Crisp will see some time at designated hitter this season, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The acquisition of Khris Davis on Friday gives the A's plenty of flexibility in the outfield and will likely force Coco Crisp out of a starting role in left field. Davis played almost entirely in left during his tenure with the Brewers so it seems probable he would make a smooth transition there for the A's. If Davis does in fact claim the starting role in left, Slusser notes that Crisp would get a lot of at-bats at DH. Crisp, now 36 years old and coming off a 2015 season in which he played in only 44 games due to injury, is due to play a more limited role in 2016, which limits his value to deeper leagues.
