Crisp indicates that his neck, wrist and elbow are all fine and is taking daily batting practice, reports John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group.
EDGE Analysis
Crisp's role and playing time with the A's are up in the air entering spring training with the acquisition of Khris Davis. If healthy, Crisp should see some at-bats split between left field, center field and designated hitter, but those are all spots that are already taken on the A's depth chart. There is also the issue of Crisp's neck issues that have plagued him the last two years and could be fixed with surgery, but that would require Crisp to retire. He opted for rest and rehab over the off-season and says" my neck is my neck" which does not sound or feel especially optimistic. If Crisp can stay healthy, he will likely need an injury or extremely poor performance by Billy Burns or Billy Butler to find himself with full-time at-bats.
