Martin Brodeur lifted the Devils to a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Flyers on Tuesday night, blocking 30 shots on 31 attempts. The 41 year-old is now on a four game winning streak as his record improves to 17-11-4 this season with a.901 save percentage and 2.49 goals against average.

Martin Brodeur will get the call for New Jersey Tuesday night in Philadelphia. It will mark his second straight start after he made 29 stops in a 5-4 win over Carolina on Saturday. Brodeur has won his past three outings.

Martin Brodeur won his third straight game as the Devils took down the Hurricanes on Saturday night 5-4. Brodeur was not all that great, he was just the beneficiary of some offensive support from his teammates. The future Hall of Famer continues to share time between the pipes with Cory Schneider. Brodeur has a 2.54 goals-against average and .898 save percentage on the season.

Martin Brodeur would like to sign a new contract this summer. Brodeur is open to serving as a team's backup, so he might even stick with the Devils. He's also doesn't take the fact that he wasn't traded as an indication that there's little or no market out there for his services. "Not at all, because I was so specific about what I wanted. I didn't want to leave and go into a situation that could've been worse than here," Brodeur said. "When the time comes, if it does, it will be a different situation. I don't think the market has changed for what I could bring to somebody, or here. I'll see."

Martin Brodeur is happy to finish the 2013-14 campaign with the New Jersey Devils. Brodeur was clear that he was willing to waive his no-trade clause and it even seemed like he might want to be traded given how much his role has declined in New Jersey. All the same, he will finish out the season with the Devils. "I'm pretty excited to be here," Brodeur said. "I don't have to go anywhere. It's a certain situation that was out of my control. I want to play some games. I want to play in the playoffs. This is some of the stuff I asked Lou. We had a conversation about playing time and getting in the playoffs. So, I expect to play and I expect myself to try to be in the playoffs also and get a big run, get a big push. It's all up to me to play well when I'm called upon."

Although a lot of goaltenders were, Martin Brodeur wasn't traded before the deadline passed. That's not terribly surprising. While Brodeur touched on his openness for a trade as he faced a rapidly declining role in New Jersey, there likely wasn't much of a market for him and the Devils were probably reluctant to move him even if their was. He's had a tremendous career with New Jersey and it's doubtful that they wanted to see his tenure end with a trade. At least now there's a chance that he'll play his final game in the Devils' uniform.

New Jersey Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said "it would be an understatement" to call him happy with the team's current goaltending tandem. Although there were some rumors that the Devils were close to trading Martin Brodeur, we doubt anything will happen before the deadline. For one thing, the Devils supposed trading partner, the Minnesota Wild, have already addressed their goaltending needs by getting Ilya Bryzgalov. Beyond that, it just never made much sense for the Devils to trade Brodeur. At this late stage of his career, he wouldn't provide the Devils with much of a return. Would it really be worth it to trade him now rather than let the long-time face of their franchise finish out what could be his final season in a Devils' uniform?

Martin Brodeur stopped 20 shots in securing the 664th victory with Devils on Tuesday night, a 4-3 win over Detroit on the eve of the NHL trade deadline. Though it is possible Brodeur could be moved during Wednesday's deadline, there are no confirmed reports indicating the 41 year-old legend will be departing from the only NHL franchise he's ever played for. Brodeur became expendable during the off-season when the Devils acquired Cory Schneider, while the future Hall of Famer has compiled a 15-11-4 record, .899 save percentage and 2.49 goals against average in his diminished role this season.

New Jersey Devils GM Lou Lamoriello bashed a report that Martin Brodeur will be dealt to the Minnesota Wild. The report specified that Brodeur will first start on Tuesday for the Devils. "It's just incredible, just incredible," Lamoriello said. "I've never even heard of it." When asked if he denied the report, Lamoriello said, "even responding to anything anymore today," although that didn't stop him from further attacking the "rumor." Other reports have Minnesota targeting Jaroslav Halak.

Martin Brodeur doesn't think the decision to have him start at home on Tuesday is related to the rumors that he will be traded. "It's a hockey decision at the end of the day," Brodeur said. "Regardless of if I'm going to go somewhere or stay here, that's the business part of the game. So, I'm kind of happy to get back in the net. It's been a while that I didn't play at the Prudential Center [since Jan. 7], so it's going to be nice for that." Brodeur has lost the starting job to Cory Schneider. We're still not entirely convinced that Brodeur will be dealt. The Devils aren't likely to get much for him at this stage of his career, so it would probably make more sense to just have the legendary goaltender finish playing out his final season in a Devils' jersey.
