Mike Adams (back) will be activated from the disabled list on Sunday. Adams had been scheduled to make a rehab appearance next Monday, but evidently he's recovering a little quicker than expected. It's not clear if he'll appear in a minor league game over the weekend or just throw in the bullpen to get ready. Either way, Jonathan Papelbon will have his setup man back on Sunday.

Mike Adams (back) is scheduled to make an appearance in a minor league rehab game Monday. That means that he won't return to the Phillies' bullpen until Tuesday night, at the earliest. Adams has been sidelined since May 11 with a right back strain.

Mike Adams (back) threw a bullpen session Wednesday. Adams landed on the disabled list earlier this week with a back strain, but reported feeling good and will throw again on Friday. The veteran right-hander thinks he could be ready to return Sunday, but the Phillies may give him some more time.

Phillies placed RHP Mike Adams on the 15-day disabled list with a right back strain. Adams has been battling the injury for close to two weeks and the Phillies finally decided to shut him down for a bit. He's allowed to return before the end of May.

Mike Adams could be placed on the disabled list if he doesn't feel significant improvement with his back by Tuesday. The Phillies will need to make a roster move that day for fifth starter Tyler Cloyd. Adams hasn't pitched since May 10, so the Phils could backdate a DL move and possibly get him back on May 26.

Mike Adams went for an MRI which revealed a mild mid-back strain. Adams hasn't made much progress over the past week, but he's still hoping to avoid a stint on the disabled list. The Phillies could make a move if he can't pitch at some point this weekend.

Mike Adams said Friday that his back hasn't improved, but that a trip to the disabled list hasn't been discussed yet. Adams hasn't pitched since last Friday and received a cortisone injection following a setback on Tuesday. It's unlikely the Phillies will want to go short-handed for much longer, so look for a move soon.

Mike Adams had a setback Tuesday while playing to catch and was given a cortisone injection in his back. Adams hasn't pitched in a game since last Friday because of lower back discomfort. He's considered day-to-day for now but could need a 15-day disabled list stint if the pain lingers for much longer.

Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee revealed Friday that Mike Adams has been dealing with a "tender hip." Adams wasn't available Thursday and it's unclear whether the Phillies will use him on Friday. It's worth noting that he has appeared in 11 of the team's 23 games -- a heavy workload coming off surgery to address his thoracic outlet syndrome -- so the club is just being cautious. "A lot of work," said Dubee. "He had a tender hip, but that's no issue. He aggravated it one day. But that you go with. you'll have stuff (like that) on a regular basis. But the workload - he's pitched a lot."
