Phillies transferred RHP Mike Adams from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. He'll now be sidelined until at least early August with fraying in his right labrum, and there's no guarantee he'll return at all this season. Adams has pitched well when healthy this season, posting a 2.12 ERA with 20 strikeouts over 17 innings.

Mike Adams (shoulder) acknowledged Monday that he will be out through the All-Star break. And possibly much longer. Adams was diagnosed June 10 with fraying in his right labrum and he remains shut down from throwing. Consider the setup man out indefinitely.

Mike Adams was diagnosed Tuesday with fraying in his right labrum and will be shut down 10 days. Adams is going to get a cortisone injection later this week to help with the discomfort that he's feeling. There's no structural damage in his rotator cuff, so the Phillies are staying optimistic. Aadams, who's had a tough recent history with shoulder issues, was sporting a 2.12 ERA and 20 strikeouts through 17 innings this season.

Mike Adams (shoulder) could receive a cortisone injection when he visits the doctor Monday. Adams was placed on the disabled list Saturday with right rotator cuff inflammation and admitted to being concerned. It doesn't appear that he has structural damage, but more will be known after Monday's exam. Adams had been pitching well, posting a 2.12 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 17 innings. "That's probably the most frustrating part," Adams said. "I felt like pitching-wise, I had gotten back to where I was in the past."

Phillies placed RHP Mike Adams on the 15-day disabled list with right rotator cuff inflammation. It's a disappointing development for the right-hander, who returned strong from last year's shoulder surgery. Adams has a 2.12 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 20 strikeouts in 17 innings this season. Ken Giles was recalled in a corresponding move.

Phillies activated RHP Mike Adams from the 15-day disabled list. Luis Garcia was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding roster move. Adams, who had offseason shoulder and hernia surgeries, made four rehab appearances between High-A Clearwater and Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Now that he's back to 100 percent, he'll help set up for Jonathan Papelbon.
