Phillies transferred RHP Mike Adams from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Adam is trying to rehab dual tears in his right labrum and one in his rotator cuff. He's done for the year.

Mike Adams will not undergo shoulder surgery to repair two tears in his right labrum and one in his rotator cuff. It's possible he'll eventually have a procedure, but for now he will be given a platelet-rich plasma injection and go from there. Even in a best-case scenario, Adams won't return until late in the season.

Mike Adams' season is likely over after he was diagnosed with two tears in his right labrum and one in his rotator cuff. Yikes. Adams is still contemplating whether to address the injury through rehab or surgery, but, either way, he's not expected back this season. "It's not going to heal," Adams said. "Maybe I can do some stuff to get the other muscles to take over and strengthen and hold everything else intact." The reliever tore his labrum back in 2008 and had that surgically-repaired. Ultimately, he seems likely to go under the knife again. Adams is under contract for $7 million next season and has a $6 million club option for 2015 that vests with 60 innings pitched in 2014.

Mike Adams (biceps) will visit Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Tuesday. It's not clear whether surgery is a real possibility, but the Phillies want to get a better handle on Adams' biceps issue. The reliever had dealt with the injury for a few weeks before the Phillies finally decided to play him on the disabled list over the weekend.

Phillies placed RHP Mike Adams on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 20, with biceps tendinitis. Adams hasn't pitched since Wednesday and the injury has affected him for the last two weeks. J.C. Ramirez has been called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to replace him on the active roster.

Mike Adams struck out one in a scoreless eighth inning Thursday in his return to action. Adams missed a week of action due to a sore right biceps. The high-priced setup man has struggled this season both with his velocity and results.

Mike Adams' (biceps) availability for Tuesday's game in unclear. Adams threw a brief bullpen session Tuesday to test out his sore biceps but was then spotted with his arm wrapped in ice before the game. "I just wanted to push some of the rust out," Adams said. The Phillies' setup man hasn't appeared in a game since last Thursday.

Mike Adams might not be available to pitch until at least Tuesday due to irritation in his right biceps. Adams doesn't think the ailment is a big deal, but he said the same thing about a back strain that ultimately forced him to the disabled list. The reliever pitched through the injury for a week but decided he needed a few days to calm the pain. "It just seems like I get rid of one thing and something else pops up," Adams said. "It's not a big deal. It's just an irritation."

Mike Adams is currently dealing with a sore shoulder and was unavailable for Friday's game against the Brewers. It was certainly curious that Adams didn't appear in the late innings of a close ballgame, and now we have clarification as to why. Itdoesn't sound like the type of injury that should keep Adams out long though, so consider him day-to-day for the time being.

Phillies activated RHP Mike Adams from the 15-day disabled list. Adams missed a couple weeks of action with a right back strain but is ready to rejoin the Phils' bullpen despite no rehab appearances. He'll return to being the primary right-handed setup man.
