Rzepczynski struck out Chris Davis with the bases loaded in the ninth inning Wednesday to record his first save of the season in a 7-6 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
After Edwin Diaz melted down once again trying to protect a three-run lead, Rzepczynski came in to face a dangerous left-handed hitter and close things out. The veteran LOOGY isn't likely to get another save chance this season, but if Diaz's struggles continue and the Mariners resort to a committee approach at closer, he could suddenly find himself with a share of the job.

Rzepczynski notched his 14th hold in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Orioles, getting one out on three pitches.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander's ERA is now back under 3.00 for the first time since June 8, and he's now posted three holds and a win over five August appearances. Rzepczynski has rattled off eight straight scoreless efforts as well and is just five holds away from eclipsing the career-best 18 he tallied in both 2011 and 2012 with the Blue Jays and Cardinals.

Rzepczynski notched his 12th hold in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Rangers, firing two-thirds scoreless innings while hitting a batter and recording a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran has five scoreless efforts in his last six appearances and has now exceeded last season's total of 11 holds. Rzepczynski continues to see a solid workload, already logging 41 appearances as a lefty specialist that has provided more consistent performances than fellow southpaw James Pazos.

Rzepczynski grabbed his 10th hold in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Astros, getting one out on a strikeout to close out the eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Rzepcynski bailed Nick Vincent and the Mariners out of a dicey spot, as he came on with runners at the corners and the tying run at the plate in the form of Carlos Beltran. However, the 31-year-old southpaw needed just four pitches to dispose of the veteran slugger, notching his sixth consecutive scoreless appearance in the process. Rzepczynski doesn't offer particularly impressive strikeout upside and can struggle with location at times, but he retains some value in AL-only and deep formats that factor in holds.

Rzepczynski retired the only batter he faced in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Angels, earning his ninth hold.
EDGE Analysis
Rzepczynski needed seven pitches to induce a pop-up from Kole Calhoun with Ben Revere on second, serving as an effective bridge to closer Edwin Diaz, who subsequently came on for a four-out save opportunity. The 29-year-old has had one major stumble this season, a June 13 appearance against the Twins where he gave up four runs (three earned) over a third of an inning. Otherwise, Rzepczynski has only been scored upon in three of his other 28 outings, rendering him one of manager Scott Servais' most trusted options out of the bullpen.

Rzepczynski gave up four runs (three earned) on five hits over one-third of an inning in Tuesday's 20-7 loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Rzepczynski induced a fielder's choice from Joe Mauer to open his appearance and then couldn't get anyone else out. The Twins chipped away with singles, but the four runs represented the most that the southpaw has surrendered this season. The outing was actually only the second in which the 31-year-old has failed to turn in a scoreless effort, which is reflected in the solid 3.00 ERA that he still carries despite Tuesday's outcome.

Rzepczynski notched his seventh hold of the season in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Rockies with a scoreless one-third of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old southpaw has three straight one-out holds, including on back-to-back days versus the Rockies. Rzepczynski has proven to one of the steadiest bullpen options for manager Scott Servais, posting a 1.42 ERA and 0.79 WHIP while turning in scoreless efforts in all but one of his 21 appearances.

Rzepczynski notched his fifth hold of the season in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Nationals by getting one out on a strikeout to close out the eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran stepped into a high-leverage situation when he was called upon to face Daniel Murphy with Bryce Harper on second, but he was able to set down the Nationals' second baseman on four pitches to snuff out the threat. Rzepczynski stumbled two appearances ago against the Athletics, but has otherwise produced scoreless efforts in his other 18 appearances. He's been particularly effective against lefty bats, generating an .038 BAA against that handedness of hitter.

Rzepczynski gave up a home run in two-thirds of an inning against the A's on Tuesday. He also issued two walks (one intentional).
EDGE Analysis
Rzepczynski replaced Steve Cishek in the ninth inning after Cishek blew a save opportunity. The lefty failed to limit the damage, as he allowed Oakland to extend its lead to four runs with a homer off the bat of Mark Canha -- it was his first home run allowed this season. The back-end of the Mariners' bullpen is seemingly wide open with Edwin Diaz removed from the closer role (at least temporarily), and while Rzepczysnki does have swing-and-miss stuff, his walk issues could hold him back.

Rzepczynski could see more save opportunities with Edwin Diaz being removed from the closer's role Tuesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Scott Servais seems to want to try multiple different arms in the ninth inning while Diaz works out some mechanical issues. Steve Cishek, Nick Vincent and Tony Zych are also in the running for save chances, but Rzepczynski is the only one in the bunch who has yet to allow an earned run this season, which could work in his advantage when the situation arises.
