De La Rosa tossed two scoreless innings in relief Sunday in the Diamondbacks' 9-6 loss to the Giants. He gave up two walks and one hit and struck out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Since returning from a two-week stint on the disabled list in mid-June, De La Rosa has made five appearances out of the Arizona bullpen, most of which came in low-leverage spots. The lefty maintains a 3.04 ERA on the season, but with only 15 strikeouts and six holds in 26.2 innings, he's not a particularly fantasy-friendly middle reliever.

De La Rosa (Achilles) was activated from the 10-day disabled list prior to Thursday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
De La Rosa will slide back into the Diamondbacks' bullpen after miss a couple weeks with right Achilles tendon bursitis. Through 27 appearances this season, he's logged a 3.54 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with an 11:9 K:BB across 20.1 innings of relief. In a corresponding move, Silvino Bracho was sent down to Triple-A Reno.

De La Rosa (Achilles) pitched in a rehab game at extended spring training Monday, Justin Toscano of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
De La Rosa is slated to face hitters again Tuesday. If all goes well during that outing, De La Rosa would likely be activated from the 10-day disabled list and some point later this week and reclaim a middle-relief role in the Arizona bullpen.

De La Rosa (Achilles) threw a bullpen session at the Diamondbacks' extended spring training facility Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
With De La Rosa resuming mound work less than a week after landing on the disabled list, it appears unlikely that he'll be in store for an extended absence. He's expected to face hitters at some point over the weekend and if that goes well, he could be cleared to return from the DL without requiring a minor-league rehab assignment.

De La Rosa (Achilles) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic Arizona reports.
EDGE Analysis
He left Friday's game with right Achilles tightness, and it's serious enough that he required a DL stint. Jake Barrett was recalled from Triple-A Reno to take De La Rosa's spot in the bullpen.

De La Rosa was the pitcher of record in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Mets after giving up three runs on four hits while covering the seventh inning.
EDGE Analysis
After retiring the first two batters of the inning, De La Rosa gave up a base hit followed by a pair of home runs to give the Mets all the cushion they would need over the final two frames. The home runs were the first allowed by De La Rosa in 16 innings this season, as the lefty has otherwise done well to limit hard contact from opposing batters. The rough outing Sunday shouldn't deter manager Torey Lovullo from turning back to De La Rosa for middle-inning work in the future.

De La Rosa was credited with his fifth hold of the season after retiring both of the batters he faced Tuesday in the Diamondbacks' 8-5 win over the Dodgers in 12 innings.
EDGE Analysis
De La Rosa entered the game with one out in the seventh inning, coming on in relief of Fernando Salas with a lefty-on-lefty matchup on tap. After getting Alex Verdugo to ground out, De La Rosa induced a flyout from switch hitter Yasmani Grandal to escape the frame unscathed. Though he got the job done Tuesday, De La Rosa is still expected to see the bulk of his work against same-handed hitters, with full-inning appearances more likely to come in lower-leverage spots.

De La Rosa struck out two during a perfect inning Sunday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
De La Rosa managed to set the Dodgers down in order after appearing in back-to-back games. He's allowed just one run on three hits and six walks while striking out three through 5.1 innings so far this season. The Diamondbacks will have Monday off before beginning a three-game series against the Giants on Tuesday.

De La Rosa took the loss in relief Tuesday against the Giants after recording just one out and giving up a run on one hit and three walks.
EDGE Analysis
De La Rosa might have been preparing for long-relief duty after he entered a tie game in the bottom of the ninth inning, but his erratic control prevented the Diamondbacks from extending the game to extras. The lefty found the strike zone on just four of his 14 pitches, walking three of the first four batters he faced before Andrew McCutchen delivered a walkoff base hit. De La Rosa is now sitting on a horrid 1:6 K:BB over five appearances this season and appears unlikely to see much usage in high-leverage spots, aside from lefty-on-lefty matchups.

The Diamondbacks added De La Rosa to their 40-man roster Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
De La Rosa returned to Arizona on a minor-league contract in February and it isn't overly surprising that the team opted to purchase his contract Sunday. The 36-year-old posted a 4.21 ERA and 1.31 WHIP over 51.1 innings with the Diamondbacks in 2017 and will likely start the season in middle relief.
