Beimel signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Friday and will report to Double-A San Antonio, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
It would be quite the story if Beimel manages to crack the major-league roster at some point this season. He owns a respectable 4.06 ERA in 680 innings at the major-league level, but the last of those came all the way back in 2015. The lefty is now 44 years old but has apparently kept his arm fresh, as he was clocked in the mid-90s recently after never averaging 90 mph with his fastball in any of his 13 major-league seasons.

Beimel was released by the Royals, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 39-year-old southpaw had pitched 14.2 innings across 12 games at Triple-A Omaha before being released. Beimel had been struggling, as he'd posted a 4.30 ERA and 1.91 WHIP. His last stint in the MLB came during the 2015 season, during which he had a 3.99 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with the Mariners.

Beimel has agreed to a minor-league contract with the Royals, Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beimel will be required to pass a physical before being able to play, but the Royals have seen his MRI and believe his elbow is okay. Beimel has had both shoulder and elbow issues in 2016, but was given a clean bill of health by doctors. Beimel will likely be used for organizational depth in the bullpen. The veteran has not played in a major league game this season.

Beimel signed with the Marlins on Thursday and will report to extended spring training, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 39-year-old Beimel tossed 47.1 innings for the Mariners in 2015, collecting a 3.99 ERA but striking out just 4.2 batters per nine innings. He'll likely start his tenure with the club in the minors, but could end up in the Miami bullpen later this year if a need for a lefty reliever arises.

Beimel (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day DL on Friday, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
With a scoreless, two-strikeout frame for Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, Beimel convinced the Mariners he's good to go after missing just one more than the minimum 15 days required by his DL stint. His return will bolster a bullpen that was needed for 10.2 innings in the team's first three games of the week.

Beimel gave up a game-winning three-run homer in the 11th inning Tuesday against the Yankees. The lefty specialist wasn't too special, giving up the home run to his first batter faced. Beimel joined the team in early May and has been fairly mediocre. Six of his eight inherited runners have scored, and he's been charged with four runs in 11.2 innings.

Beimel will take a leave of absence for personal reasons, the Tacoma News-Tribune's Bob Dutton reports. Supposedly his absence will be brief, and in the meantime Lucas Luetge was called up from Triple-A to offer bullpen depth at the big league level.

Beimel made his season debut in the eighth inning Wednesday and retired the only batter he faced. Beimel, who had his contract selected by the Mariners on Monday, was brought in to face the left-handed Kole Calhoun. He got Calhoun to ground out to second base on the first pitch and was then replaced on the hill by Mark Lowe.

Beimel had his contract selected by the major league team. Beimel pitched 3.2 scoreless innings with five strikeouts and just one hit allowed with Triple-A Tacoma thus far. He'll serve as an extra arm in the big league bullpen, but figures to be used mainly in lower leverage situations.

Beimel signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Thursday, Shannon Drayer of 710 AM ESPN reports. Beimel was released by the division-rival Rangers last week, after struggling throughout spring training. He posted a 2.20 ERA over 45 innings with the Mariners last season, but he only struck out 25 batters and is an obvious candidate to regress in a big way. The veteran lefty will likely start his season with Triple-A Tacoma.
