Beimel made his season debut in the eighth inning Wednesday and retired the only batter he faced. Beimel, who had his contract selected by the Mariners on Monday, was brought in to face the left-handed Kole Calhoun. He got Calhoun to ground out to second base on the first pitch and was then replaced on the hill by Mark Lowe.
