Beimel signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Thursday, Shannon Drayer of 710 AM ESPN reports. Beimel was released by the division-rival Rangers last week, after struggling throughout spring training. He posted a 2.20 ERA over 45 innings with the Mariners last season, but he only struck out 25 batters and is an obvious candidate to regress in a big way. The veteran lefty will likely start his season with Triple-A Tacoma.
