The White Sox outrighted Turner off the 40-man roster Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The primary purpose of the transaction was to remove Turner from the 40-man roster, and he was outrighted after clearing waivers. Turner will be a free agent this offseason and posted a 6.56 ERA over 18 appearances with the White Sox in 2016, so it remains to be seen what his next move will be.

Turner will move to the bullpen after the announcement that Anthony Ranaudo will start Wednesday against the Cubs, the White Sox's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Turner struggled in his first two starts in place of the injured Carlos Rodon, with his last outing lasting all of 3.1 innings. Rodon should be back from injury in short order, so Turner's stay in the rotation would not have been long anyway. Look for him to pitch in low-pressure relief situations for the immediate future.

Turner (0-1) allowed four runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six over 3.1 innings, but received no decision Friday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Despite strong strikeout numbers, Turner simply couldn't keep the Tigers' hitters off the base paths, leading to another poor outing. He's only pitched 7.1 innings over his two starts and has been a major drag on the team's bullpen in each of his two starts, and his ERA is now at 14.73. He'll make his next start Wednesday at the Cubs.

Turner (0-1) allowed eight runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over four innings to take the loss Sunday at the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Turner entered the fourth inning with a 2-1 deficit, but then gave up seven runs while retiring only three additional hitters, leading to his exit. With an outing like this, it could be difficult for him to keep a roster spot when Carlos Rodon (wrist) returns from the disabled list. He'll make his next start Friday against the Tigers.

Turner's contract was purchased from Triple-A Charlotte in advance of Sunday's start against the Angels, Scot Gregor of the Daily Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
With manager Robin Ventura looking to rest rotation members Chris Sale and Jose Quintana following their appearance in last Tuesday's All-Star Game, Turner will step in to fill out the starting staff. The White Sox currently have a vacancy in their rotation with Carlos Rodon (wrist) on the DL, but Turner doesn't project to stay with the team once Rodon returns. Turner owns a 4.71 ERA across 107 innings at Charlotte this season.

Turner will be recalled to start Sunday against the Angels, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old will get his first major-league opportunity since 2014 as the White Sox reward All-Stars Chris Sale and Jose Quintana with extra rest. Turner, who missed nearly all of 2015 with elbow issues, has posted unsightly numbers with Triple-A Charlotte this season (4.71 ERA, 1.44 WHIP) and it's hard to imagine he'll stick around once Carlos Rodon is cleared to return.

Turner could be in line to start next week against Texas, the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox's fifth starter gig remains "fluid" after John Danks' release earlier this week. Erik Johnson got the first crack at the spot, but his audition lasted all of one mediocre start. Turner has had mixed results thus far at Triple-A Charlotte, striking out an impressive 9.1 per nine, but also walking batters in droves.

Turner was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Turner has struggled mightily this spring, and after starting the spring in the mix for a rotation spot, he won't even make the Opening Day roster. That being said, if he improves at the Triple-A level, he could find his way back to Chicago at some point in the season.

Turner allowed two home runs in the White Sox's loss to the Mariners on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
He allowed a two-run shot to Nelson Cruz and then a solo home run to Leonys Martin to start the next inning. Turner entered camp with an outside chance of earning a rotation spot, but now it's not a guarantee that he will make the bullpen.

Turner allowed five runs on six hits in just 2.2 innings against Oakland on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Oakland offense, composed of many regulars, exploded for 19 hits in this game. Turner took the brunt of the offensive, which is unfortunate, considering he needs everything to go right if he wants to land the fifth spot in the White Sox's rotation.
