Turner threw two scoreless innings against the Indians on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Turner missed most of 2015 with elbow issues, but he looked sharp in his first start of the 2016 Cactus League. His fastball was tracked at 94 mph, which would be in line with his pre-injury ability. Turner is likely to start 2016 in the bullpen, but he could be a fall-back option in the rotation should injury or inability strike.

Manager Robin Ventura said Turner is in the mix for a long relief role in the White Sox's bullpen, the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
A few weeks ago, it looked like Turner would compete with Erik Johnson for the White Sox's fifth starter role. However, the team's signing of Mat Latos ostensibly derailed that competition. Turner may not be officially out of the running for a starter's role, but a relief gig is more realistic (given that he is out of minor league options). A multi-inning role would at least keep him stretched-out to sub into the rotation as needed later in the year.

Turner re-signed with the White Sox on Wednesday, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The one-year deal will reportedly pay Turner $1.5 million, which stands to be a reasonable gamble for a player of his talent level. The former ninth overall pick in the 2009 draft is still dealing with elbow soreness that essentially shut him down for all of the 2015 season, so there is some obvious concern. However, the 24-year-old could easily push for a spot in the back end of the White Sox's rotation should Turner's elbow hold up throughout spring training.

The White Sox declined to tender Turner a contract for 2016, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Turner was brought in on a waiver claim in late October, but the White Sox ultimately decided the right-hander was too much of a risk given his persistent elbow troubles. The ninth overall pick in 2009, he has a 4.97 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 298.2 career innings at the major league level.

Turner was claimed off waivers by the White Sox on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
This is a bit of a gamble on the White Sox part considering Turner sat out almost all of 2015 and was not effective as a starter in 2014. However, Turner used to be a top prospect, and still has some room for growth since he's only 24 years old. The White Sox rotation is pretty crowded, but Turner still has a chance to compete for a spot in the back of the rotation if his elbow can hold up throughout spring training.

Turner has been shut down indefinitely by the Cubs due to persistent soreness in his pitching elbow, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports. Turner's elbow continues to be a source of concern for the right-hander. He was expected to go on a rehab assignment earlier in the month, but the condition of his elbow appears to have worsened. It appears that Turner will be on the shelf for the forseeable future.

Turner (elbow) is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Tennessee on Tuesday. Turner, who has been on the DL since the start of the season, is expected to start Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader for the Smokies. He remains without a firm return timetable, but if everything goes well on the rehab assignment, he could return to the Cubs prior to the end of the month. Turner, who split last season between Miami and Chicago, posted a 6.49 ERA in eight appearances (six starts) for the Cubs.

Turner (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Sunday. The Cubs were in need of an extra reliever from the Triple-A ranks after Saturday's 11-inning victory over the Padres, so Turner was dropped from the 40-man roster in order to accomodate the call-up of Gonzalez Germen. Turner's move to the 60-day DL indicates that the Cubs probably aren't counting on having him fully healthy until June at the earliest.

Turner (elbow) was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday, MLB.com's Carrie Muskat reports. Turner seems to have avoided ligament damage, but is still not expected to resume throwing until mid-April. He likely won't be competing for spot starts or a long relief role until some point in May.

Turner (elbow) will take a month off from throwing, CSN Chicago reports. The good news here is that Turner has no ligament damage, as a second opinion confirmed, but he will need a month to let the bone bruise and mild flexor strain in his right arm heal. Turner made just one Cactus League appearance before the injury forced him out of action. While Turner is out of minor league options, he will be able to spend up to 30 days on a minor league rehab assignment before being activated.
