Headley is batting sixth and playing third base Thursday against the Astros, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Headley is back in the lineup after missing Tuesday's contest with some knee soreness stemming from a hit-by-pitch. He was able to serve as a pinch-hitter during Tuesday's loss to the Reds, so it isn't too surprising to see him back in the lineup after the Yankees' off day. The 33-year-old is slashing .268/.359/.429 though 30 games this season.

Headley (knee) entered Tuesday's loss to the Reds as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning, going 0-for-1.
EDGE Analysis
Headley was held out of the starting lineup as a precautionary measure after feeling some soreness around his knee, so it's a good sign that he was able to take an at-bat Tuesday. He wasn't able to test it out in the field at all, but with an off day scheduled for Wednesday, he'll get another chance to draw back into the lineup for Thursday's tilt against the Astros.

Headley (knee) is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Reds, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Headley was expected to miss Tuesday's contest after being hit by a pitch on the right knee that forced him out of Monday's game early. The injury isn't thought to be overly serious, but the Yankees will afford him an extra day to heal up as the team's off day comes Wednesday. Ronald Torreyes will draw the start at third base in his stead.

Headley was removed early from Monday's win against the Reds after being hit by pitch in the right knee, and is likely to miss Tuesday's game as a result, George A. King of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Both Headley and manager Joe Girardi expressed their belief that it wasn't overly serious, but the third baseman reported some soreness at the conclusion of Monday's contest. The 33-year-old figures to sit at least one game, and with the club's scheduled off day on Wednesday, he'll get the opportunity to rest his knee for at least a couple of days. Headley, who's in the midst of an 0-for-14 stretch that's dropped his average to .270, will likely be replaced at third by Ronald Torreyes for any time he misses.

Headley went 0-for-7 with four strikeouts in Sunday's 18-inning, 5-4 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
The hitless performance snapped a five-game hitting streak for Headley, and he had hits in eight of his last 10 games before striking out four times Sunday night. Despite the decent .278 average, Headley only has three homers and 19 RBI in 123 plate appearances and was recently dropped in the batting order. Don't expect anything more than mediocre production across the board for the 33-year-old the rest of the way.

Headley is out of the lineup Monday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
With a .205/.271/.386 slash line over his past 11 games, Headley is starting to fizzle after a hot start to the season. In recognition of the slump, manager Joe Girardi dropped Headley to the sixth spot in the order Sunday, but it largely failed to ignite the veteran, who went 1-for-5 with a walk and three strikeouts. Headley will now get a day off to mentally unwind, allowing Ronald Torreyes to pick up a start at the hot corner.

Headley will start at third base and bat sixth in the order Sunday against the Orioles, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Headley still owns a career-high 14.3 percent walk rate for the season to inflate his on-base percentage to .407 for the season, but he's struggled to get much going at the plate lately. After going 6-for-34 (.176 average) over his last eight games, Headley will move out of the upper third of the lineup to clear a spot for Aaron HIcks in the two hole Sunday.

Headley went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer against the White Sox on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Moved up to the second spot in the order, he didn't exactly play the part of an on-base machine, but Headley kept his hot start to the season going even though his average dropped under .400 to .396. We've seen Headley get hot like this before, but his mediocre overall track record and tendency to get banged up mean there's no reason to think he's having an age-33 breakout.

Headley will start at third base and bat second in the order Wednesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Headley has been one of the unsung heroes behind the Yankees' 9-5 start to the season, slashing an impressive .409/.519/.614 over 54 plate appearances. Manager Joe Girardi will reward Headley with a promotion up in the lineup from the No. 5 spot, where his on-base skills figure to play well.

Headley is not in the lineup Tuesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
After starting in each of the Yankees' first 13 games, Headley will take a seat for the first time all year as Ronald Torreyes slides over to third base while Pete Kozma mans shortstop. The 37-year-old is off to a nice start to the season, going 17-for-43 with two homers, 10 RBI and three stolen bases. He should be back in the lineup for the series finale Wednesday.
