Headley (back) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the Rays, LoHud's Chad Jennings reports.
EDGE Analysis
Back tightness kept him out of the lineup Sunday, and even after Monday's off day, he's still not ready to return. Donovan Solano will start at third base and hit eighth Tuesday.

Headley is not in Sunday evening's lineup due to back tightness, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
With a team day off on tap for Monday, the Yankees decided to take a conservative approach with their regular third baseman, allowing Headley an extra day to rest. Consider him day-to-day heading into Tuesday's series opener in Tampa Bay.

Headley is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
After seven consecutive starts at the hot corner, Headley will take a seat in favor of Ronald Torreyes. The switch-hitting third baseman is just 2-for-12 with five strikeouts in his career against Sunday starter Drew Pomeranz, so the timing seemed right to get the veteran a day off.

Headley is out of the lineup Saturday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
His batting average and on-base percentage sit right around his 2015 output, but he is at 13 homers in 124 games after belting just 11 homers in 156 games last season. He is still a below-average slugger for the position, but in deep leagues he compiles enough counting stats to be of some use. Ronald Torreyes will start at third base and hit ninth Saturday.

Headley went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Headley's long ball was part of a four-run eighth inning that turned a 4-3 deficit into a 7-4 lead for the Yankees. This was his third homer in the last 12 games after the third baseman had gone 15 without one. His .259/.334/.398 line shows that the 32-year-old isn't what he once was at the plate.

Headley went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
He's putting together his best stretch of the season right now, hitting .317/.391/.483 since Aug. 9 with two home runs, nine RBI and nine runs scored in 17 games. Headley's never been able to match his 31-HR campaign from 2012 in San Diego, but he could supply solid value at an affordable price down the stretch this season.

Headley is out of the lineup Saturday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
While it looks like Headley will remain the primary option at third base down the stretch, the Yankees will likely rotate Ronald Torreyes and Rob Refsnyder in occasionally. Headley finished the month of August with a .247/.322/.390 batting line.

Headley is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Much like Alex Rodriguez before him, Headley is another underperfoming veteran who has seen his at-bats trend downward with the Yankees looking to open up more playing time for some of their younger bats over the final two months. Headley will hit the bench Sunday for the sixth time in nine games, paving the way for 23-year-old Ronald Torreyes to take over as the club's primary third baseman. It doesn't look as though Torreyes will surrender those duties back to Headley anytime soon, as the youngster has gone an impressive 12-for-23 with six extra-base knocks in his past seven games.

Headley went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs in Friday's 14-4 victory over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
His two-run blast in the fourth drove in Starlin Castro, giving Headley both of his August homers over the last four games. He's provided some solid production, typically from the latter half of the order, in 2016, slashing .255/.330/.396 with 12 homers and 42 RBI over 376 at-bats.

Headley is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Mariners, the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish reports.
EDGE Analysis
His playing time has started to slip lately, as this will mark Headley's fifth day off in the last 10 games. The third baseman's production has not necessarily tailed off, but the Yankees have been making a point of getting Ronald Torreyes' hot bat in the lineup. Torreyes will get the nod again Wednesday, hitting ninth against righty Hisashi Iwakuma.
