Headley went 3-for-4 with a walk and one RBI in Thursday's win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
After the Yankees acquired Todd Frazier via trade and shifted Headley over to first, it seemed like the 33-year-old switch-hitter could be in jeopardy of losing a starting role altogether. Headley's quietly been on a roll for a while though now, hitting .296 in June and .329 thus far in July to raise his average to a respectable .271. His four home runs are still a far cry from his career-best 31, but at the very least he's likely earned the opportunity to continue staying in the lineup on a regular basis.

Manager Joe Girardi said Wednesday that Headley will receive a "crash course" at first base and likely see most of his starts at the position following the acquisition of Todd Frazier earlier this week, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier, who made an appearance as a pinch hitter Wednesday against the Twins in his Yankees debut, is expected to enter the starting nine at third base for Thursday's series opener against the Twins. Though Frazier has experience at both corner spots, he's more comfortable playing third base, so Headley will move over to the other side of the infield to accommodate the new pickup. Frazier figures to serve in everyday role at the hot corner, so look for the switch-hitting Headley to occupy the strong side of a platoon at first base with the right-handed Garrett Cooper.

Headley is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest with Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Headley will get the day off after starting the past two days while Ronald Torreyes draws the start at third. With the acquisition of Todd Frazier from the White Sox, it appears as though Headley is set to spend some time at first base while serving as Frazier's backup at the hot corner. While time on the field will fluctuate based on play, Headley could receive starts at first base against right-handers while Garrett Cooper primarily draws starts against southpaws. Much remains to be seen on how manager Joe Girardi will shuffle the lineup moving forward, but Headley looks to remain a dependable contributor to the Yankees' lineup moving forward.

Headley may get some starts at first base following the team's acquisition of Todd Frazier, the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees have had a season-long void at first base, and since they'll likely try to get both Headley and Frazier's bat in the lineup on a regular basis, it's looking as though one of the two will have to move across the diamond. Headley has started just six games at first in his career -- all since coming over to the Bronx in 2014 -- while Frazier has a bit more experience, but both options remain a possibility at this point.

Headley is not in the lineup for Game 2 against the Red Sox on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The hot-hitting Headley retreats to the bench for the final game of the series against the Red Sox. Although he collected two hits during each of the first three games, this shouldn't come as a surprise considering Saturday's game went 16 innings and the club plays a doubleheader on Sunday. In his place, Ronald Torreyes slides over to third while batting ninth.

Headley went 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of runs scored in Friday's loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Headley began the season's second half with his 19th double of the year - a figure that already surpasses the number of two-baggers he racked up in 2016. The third baseman got off to a hot start followed by a prolonged drought at the plate, but he's since leveled off and his .255/.344/.372 slash line is about in line with the kind of production to be expected out of the 33-year-old.

Headley is not in Thursday's lineup against the White Sox, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Headley will get the day off after starting the past four games, including an 0-for-2 day from the plate, with two runs scored during Wednesday's victory. In his place, Ronald Torreyes will man the hot corner.

Headley went 3-for-4 with one RBI and a double in Monday's 6-5 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Headley sat out three games with back spasms, but he's come back with consecutive three-hit games, suggesting the issue is no longer ailing him. The third baseman has been incredibly streaky this year, as his .333/.429/.435 line in June comes on the heels of a .301/.402/.494 April and .165/.211/.235 May.

Headley (back) will return to the starting lineup Sunday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Headley received an epidural injection in his back Friday, and it was said then that Sunday would be the earliest possible day for a return. That will turn out to be the case, as Headley will start at third base and bat sixth in the order after a brief three-game absence.

Headley (back) received an epidural injection Friday and will not be back until Sunday at the earliest, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees are not planning on calling anyone up, so Ronald Torreyes will likely man third base as Headley recovers from his back spasms. Headley missed Thursday's game and could be out the entire weekend before returning for the Chicago series Monday.
