De Aza is out of the lineup on Monday against the Yankees, according to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.
EDGE Analysis
After getting a lengthy run of starts with Hanley Ramirez regularly unavailable, De Aza's hold on left field may be running out. De Aza yields left field to Jackie Bradley on Monday and Bradley is in line for the lion's share of starts going forward.

De Aza went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Yankees. De Aza's no longer an everyday starter and is sharing right field since Shane Victorino returned to the lineup. He'll also fill in at left field when Hanley Ramirez is used as a designated hitter. You should expect three-to-four starts per week for now.

De Aza is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros. De Aza snapped an eight-game hitting streak with an 0-for-4 showing in Friday's game, so manager John Farrell decided to give him a day off Saturday. De Aza started 14 of the last 15 games, but with Shane Victorino back on the roster, he could see a drop in playing time moving forward.

De Aza continued to hit, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Blue Jays. De Aza, who was a homer shy of the cycle, extended his hitting streak to eight games and had his third triple in the past four games. Cash in now on De Aza, who is slugging .846 with a 1.283 OPS and 15 RBI in his last 14 games.

De Aza went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday night's win over the Blue Jays. De Aza is on a roll of late, contributing at the plate (six-game hitting streak, 10-for-22) and making some stellar catches in the field. With Hanley Ramirez (hand) nearing return and the possibility that Shane Victorino (hamstring) could be activated Friday, it's fair to wonder how De Aza fits going forward. We'll probably see him platoon in right field with Victorino, at least as long as he's hitting.

De Aza extended his hitting streak to five games, going 3-for-4 with a triple in Monday night's win over Toronto. De Aza has been a slugging machine over the past two weeks, with nine of 16 hits going for extra bases. What was a non-descript transaction at the beginning of June -- Boston acquired De Aza from Baltimore when it lost outfielders Shane Victorino and Daniel Nava to injury -- has become an expected source of production. With Hanley Ramirez (hand) and Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) both on the way back from injury, De Aza's hold on regular playing time has a short shelf life, but he's a useful piece right now.

De Aza homered for the third time in four games in Sunday's win over the Rays. He's getting regular at-bats these days with Hanley Ramirez (hand) unavailable. De Aza has hit safely in four straight, going 6-for-15 with three homers, a double, six RBI and four runs scored. With news the Ramirez, who has missed four straight, is heading back to Boston to undergo an MRI, De Aza will continue to be a regular in the lineup. Particularly if he continues to hit. Going back 10 games, De Aza is 12-for-37 with eight extra-base hits and nine RBI.

De Aza had two hits, a homer and three RBI in Boston's loss to Baltimore on Thursday. De Aza, who suffered a hand injury the night before, was able to go Thursday. With an injury to Hanley Ramirez (hand) and Brock Holt forced to the infield as a fill-in for the injured Dustin Pedroia (hamstring), De Aza should see some regular at-bats in the short term. Boston also recalled Jackie Bradley, who will share time with De Aza.

De Aza had his hand stepped on during a close play at first base in Wednesday night's win over Baltimore, the Boston Globe reports. He remained in the game, and manager John Farrell said De Aza will be available for the series finale Thursday. De Aza had the hand taped following the game, but he'll be needed Thursday. The Red Sox suffered two injuries Wednesday -- second baseman Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) and outfielder Hanley Ramirez (hand) -- which should guarantee De Aza a spot in Thursday's starting lineup.

De Aza is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Orioles. Brock Holt will take over in right field as De Aza sits against his former team after starting four straight games and eight of 10 dating back to June 12. De Aza is batting .262/.295/.429 in 14 games (44 PA) since joining Boston, up from .214/.277/.359 during his time with Baltimore, but he's just 6-for-25 (.240 average) in his career against Tuesday's starter Ubaldo Jimenez.
