The White Sox released House on Tuesday.

House will fight for a spot on the White Sox's Opening Day roster, though he'll more likely open the season as organizational pitching depth.

House is a top candidate to make a spot start next week if the team's injury-plagued pitching staff is unable to fill the rotation, Mark Zwolinski of the Toronto Star reports.

Happ (elbow) and Aaron Sanchez (finger), the right-handed House could be in line to make his Blue Jays debut.
