Now the owner of a 4.11 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 135/43 K/BB ratio through 51 1/3 American League frames, Dempster will get the Angels in Anaheim on Tuesday.

Dempster struck out eight, his most in seven starts since joining the Rangers. After getting off to a horrific American League start, Dempster has now been quality in four straight outings. His junior circuit ERA is 4.36 through 43 1/3 innings. He'll get the Indians at home next Tuesday.

Dempster has now had three quality starts and two eight-run disasters through his first five starts with the Rangers. He'll look to build on this strong performance when he takes on the Indians in Cleveland on Friday.

Ryan Dempster picked up his second win as a Ranger Monday, tossing eight innings of one-run ball while allowing just four hits and two walks in a 5-1 victory over the Orioles. Dempster struck out six in what was his best start in a Rangers uniform. The veteran right-hander has been blasted for eight runs on two separate occasions since arriving in Texas but has given up just one earned run over 14 2/3 frames in his other two starts. He has a nice matchup against the Twins this weekend.

The veteran right-hander has allowed 16 earned runs in 17 1/3 innings over his first three starts with the Rangers.

The Rangers disputed a Saturday report in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he was placed on the restricted list due to a custody-related issue, and are saying only that he was scratched for "personal reasons." Leonys Martin was recalled in a corresponding move Friday and will be optioned when Dempster returns.
