The sidewinder, who finished the season with a 1.59 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 69:9 K:BB across 62.1 innings between both teams, posted an especially impressive 1.12 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 45:5 K:BB over 40.1 innings during his time with the Phillies. With Hector Neris expected to open the season as the team's closer, Neshek should slide into a high-leverage setup role, though he could eventually get a chance in the ninth inning if Neris falters.

Neshek pitched 1.1 perfect innings with three strikeouts Sunday against the Padres.

Neshek has been dominant in 2017, earning an ERA of 1.61 and a WHIP of 0.88 over 61.2 innings. The 37-year-old right-hander continues to be effective against right-handed batters -- they're batting a dismal .202 against Neshek this season. He's in a high-leverage role for the Rockies out of the bullpen (22 holds this year), and will pitch some big innings in the last week of the regular season as his team hopes to clinch a wild card spot.

Neshek was acquired by the Rockies on Wednesday for three minor league players.

Neshek earned an All-Star appearance this year and has a ludicrous 1.12 ERA with 45 strikeouts through 40.1 innings. With the Phillies not going anywhere this year, a trade was inevitable. Unfortunately for Neshek, he now has to pitch in MLB's toughest ballpark, as it will remain to be seen how his movement-heavy repertoire will fare at Coors Field. Infielder Jose Gomez and pitchers J.D. Hammer and Alejandro Requena will head to the Phillies in the deal.

Neshek picked up his third win of the season Tuesday with a scoreless inning in the Phillies' 5-2 victory over the Marlins.
