Neshek picked up his fourth hold of the season Thursday with a scoreless two-thirds of an inning against the Marlins. He allowed one hit and struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Neshek has yet to allow a run this season and he has given up just five hits with a 6:2 K:BB in 7.2 innings. He is unlikely to enter the mix for saves given the Phillies' other options, but he should continue to be a decent source of holds this season.

Neshek was reinstated from the paternity list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
It was a brief two days away for Neshek, but he'll be back in the bullpen as the Phillies open a weekend series against the Braves. The veteran right-hander is off to a great start this season, allowing no runs over six appearances, so he should be in line for high-leverage opportunities going forward. Ben Lively was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move.

Neshek was placed on the paternity list Wednesday, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neshek will miss three games at the most, putting him on line to return for this weekend's series against the Braves. The veteran right-hander has been terrific for the Phillies out of the bullpen this season, throwing 5.2 innings of shutout baseball over six games. Ben Lively will take his spot in the bullpen for a couple of days.

Neshek tossed a scoreless inning in a 17-3 win over the Nationals on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Neshek pitched the seventh inning with the Phillies up by 11 runs. He gave up two hits before getting out of trouble. The side-armer is part of a fairly deep Phillies pen which will likely have him working mostly in the sixth and seventh innings this season.

Neshek will leave the Phillies this week to join Team USA for the World Baseball Classic, Paul Hagen of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neshek came over to the Phillies this offseason via a trade from the Astros. He will likely see most of his work in the sixth and seventh innings this season.

The Astros traded Neshek to the Phillies on Friday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neshek pitched well in 2016, particularly against right-handed hitters, but he was also due $6.5 million on a team option for next season, so the team decided to trade him rather than buy out his contract. The Phillies were willing to exercise Neshek's option year, so they decided to pick him up for little in return. He is not the favorite to close for the Phillies, but he still figures to be one of the team's top right-handed relievers.

Neshek has allowed just one run and four hits in his last 10 appearances, spanning eight innings.
EDGE Analysis
The Wisconsin native has been on a tear since the start of May, owning a 0.84 WHIP and allowing just one home run over those 26.1 innings. Despite the great stretch, Neshek has not been given a save opportunity this year.

Neshek picked up his first save by recording the final two outs Monday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The Astros saw a seven-run lead in the ninth dwindle to three after Tony Sipp gave up a grand slam to Gregorio Petit, but Neshek managed to record the final two batters in order to finish the game. While Neshek has been solid of late, he hasn't done enough to pass Will Harris (0.57 ERA in 31.2 innings) in the bullpen pecking order.

Neshek has a 1.46 ERA in 15 relief appearances for the Astros since May 1 after compiling a 5.14 ERA in April.
EDGE Analysis
Through 25 appearances in 2016, Neshek has a 2.79 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB over 19.1 innings. Most recently, the 35-year-old recorded two quick outs on only three pitches during Wednesday's win over the Rangers.

Neshek threw one inning in Sunday's loss to the Rangers, during which he gave up two runs, bringing his ERA up to 3.95.
EDGE Analysis
Despite a dominant 0.73 WHIP and .146 opponent batting average, Neshek has struggled to keep opponents from scoring. This is largely due to his inability to keep batters from hitting the long ball. Of the seven hits Neshek has allowed this season, four have been home runs, resulting in a 2.6 HR/9.
