Markakis has returned home to Baltimore for a personal reason but could rejoin the team this weekend in Miami, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has started the last 16 games, hitting .219/.275/.281 over that span. With only four games left in the regular season after Wednesday's game agains the Mets, Markakis can be dropped in the majority of single-season formats. He is under contract for another season, but the Braves could look to cut bait this offseason or simply relegate the 33-year-old outfielder to bench duty with top prospect Ronald Acuna set to debut early in 2018.

Markakis (wrist) said his wrist had improved enough for him to pinch hit Saturday, and he'll be in the lineup Sunday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis originally was set to resurface Tuesday, but this good news has renewed his availability earlier than expected. He should return to his role in the middle of the Braves' order for the series finale against the Marlins.

Markakis (wrist) is targeting a return for Tuesday's series opener against the Nationals, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With this latest news, it appears likely that Markakis will sit out Saturday and Sunday so that his wrist can continue healing. The team doesn't play Monday, so he'll be able to get an extra day to rest before returning to action. Until Markakis is ready to play, look for Jace Peterson to continue starting in right field.

Markakis (wrist) is out of the lineup Friday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
With Markakis sitting out, the Braves will start Jace Peterson in right field. Although Markakis is dealing with a sore wrist, the injury seems to be fairly minor, so he should return to the lineup in the near future.

Markakis rolled his right wrist making a catch Wednesday and was only available for pinch-running duties Thursday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. X-rays came back negative.
EDGE Analysis
It's a clarification with what was assumed to be a normal day of rest. With the test results coming back clean, Markakis should resurface in the lineup over the coming days. He's slashed .283/.364/.402 on the year, with eight home runs, 69 RBI and 70 runs scored in 583 plate appearances.

Markakis is out of the lineup against the Marlins on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis gets the day off after starting 38 of the past 40 games, slashing .307/.391/.464 with three home runs and 21 RBI during that span. In his place, Jace Peterson will man right field while batting eighth.

Markakis went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran has been swinging a hot stick lately, hitting .375 (15-for-40) over his last 10 games with two homers, eight runs and nine RBI. Markakis still only has eight home runs and a .770 OPS on the year, numbers which don't give him a lot of value in shallow leagues, but he could be worth a short-term pickup while he's locked in at the plate.

Markakis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran had been stuck in an August slump, hitting .190/.261/.357 through 11 games, but the Braves' trip to Coors Field seems to have perked up his bat and Markakis now has three hits including a double and a homer through the first two games of the series. He has just seven home runs and a .395 SLG on the year, though, and hasn't posted a SLG over .400 since 2012, so don't expect even this modest power surge to continue at sea level.
