Markakis went 1-for-2 as the DH in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Seeing his first game action of the spring, Markakis hit fifth -- a spot he could see frequently during the regular season as well with Ronald Acuna, Ender Inciarte, Josh Donaldson and Freddie Freeman likely occupying the top four spots in the order. That's a lot of on-base potential ahead of the 35-year-old, so while last year's 93 RBI might seem like an outlier -- it was his highest total since 2009 -- don't be surprised if Markakis is productive once again at a bargain price in fantasy drafts.

Markakis signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Braves on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. The deal includes a $6 million club option (or $2 million buyout) for 2020.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis will return to Atlanta after enjoying a career-year with the Braves in 2018. The 35-year-old played in all 162 games last season, hitting .297/.366/.440 with 14 homers and 93 RBI while earning his first All-Star selection. Look for Markakis to reclaim his role as the team's starting left fielder, pushing Adam Duvall to a fourth outfielder role.

The Braves will not extend the $17.9 million qualifying offer to Markakis on Friday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis will officially become a free agent after a tremendous season in 2018. He wound up slashing .297/.366/.440 with 14 home runs and 93 RBI in his fourth year in Atlanta's organization. Though Markakis will never be confused for a power hitter, he continues to own the strike zone (10.4 percent walk rate) and was able to cut back on his strikeouts (from 16.4 percent in 2017 to 11.3 this past year) to earn his first All-Star bid this past summer.

Markakis went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis handed the Braves an early one-run lead by launching a solo homer in the first inning. He's put together a modest five-game hitting streak, going 11-for-21 with two home runs and three RBI over that span. The 34-year-old lefty is batting .323 with 48 extra-base hits and 70 RBI through 112 games in 2018.

Markakis went 4-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
After A.J. Minter blew the save in the bottom of the ninth, Markakis bailed out his closer with his 13th homer of the season in the top of the 10th. The outfielder has slowed down a little after his outstanding first half, but he still sports a .288/.367/.519 slash line with three home runs in 14 games since the All-Star break.

Markakis went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's loss to the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old just refuses to slow down. Over his last 17 games, Markakis is slashing .333/.410/.530 with nine multi-hit performances to go along with two homers, 12 runs and 14 RBI. His .879 OPS is his highest in a decade, and he could be on the cusp of his first ever All-Star Game appearance.

Markakis went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, racking up a .341/.383/.500 slash line over that stretch with four doubles, a homer, six RBI and eight runs. Markakis' .893 OPS on the year is his highest mark since 2008, which not coincidentally was also the last time he hit .300 and launched 20 homers in a campaign.

Markakis went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis took reliever Bryan Mitchell deep in the seventh inning for his eighth homer of the year. The 34-year-old is now hitting .332, which ranks fourth among all MLB outfielders, and his 42 RBI are tied for third at the position. Markakis hit eight homers last year, and 13 the year before that. He's so far well on pace to surpass both those marks.

Markakis went 1-for-3 with one RBI in game one of Monday's double-header against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis contributed in the eighth inning by hitting a sacrifice fly that scored Freddie Freeman to tie the game at two. He continues to produce at the dish, hitting .340 with seven homers and 36 RBI through 53 games this season. There's little evidence to suggest he'll cool down offensively anytime soon, as he's reached base in each of his last 10 games.

Markakis went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 10-9 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis came through with a clutch RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to cut Miami's lead to two before Dansby Swanson ended the game on a walkoff base knock. The 34-year-old right fielder continues to stay hot, as he's slashing .343/.412/.519 with seven home runs and 32 RBI in 45 games. He figures to keep it rolling at the plate as the Braves travel to Philadelphia for a three-game series.
