Markakis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
He took Walker Buehler deep in the seventh inning for his fourth homer of the year, and second in as many days. Markakis is at it again -- after a huge first half in 2018, he's now slashing .331/.425/.512 through 35 games to begin 2019.

EDGE Analysis
This was his first homer since April 14. Markakis only has three bombs this year, but he's still managed to record 21 RBI and 22 runs thanks in large part to a .333 average. He's also walked more than he's struck out, giving him a .430 on-base percentage and .925 OPS.

Markakis is starting in right field and batting leadoff Thursday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
With regular leadoff man Ozzie Albies getting the day off, Markakis will hit atop of the order for the first time in nearly three years. The veteran outfielder is off to a strong start to the season, slashing .329/.411/.481 with two homers and a 13:13 BB:K through 23 games.

EDGE Analysis
Markakis kicked off the Braves' scoring for the night with a 377-foot blast off Mets ace Jacob deGrom in the bottom of the second inning. It was the second long ball in as many games for Markakis, who had managed only three extra-base knocks -- all doubles -- in the Braves' first 13 contests of 2019.

EDGE Analysis
His fourth-inning solo shot off Corey Oswalt was Markakis' first homer of the year. The veteran outfielder is now slashing a robust .333/.386/.471 through 14 games with 10 runs and 12 RBI, as he takes full advantage of his spot in the heart of Atlanta's batting order.

Markakis went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored and a walk in Monday's 8-6 win over Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis has been incredibly streaky to start the 2019 campaign. He has three multi-hit games but has gone just 2-for-24 in his other six contests. The veteran outfielder still has a .324 average but with just three extra-base hits, his OPS still sits shy of .800.

Markakis is out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Marlins, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

Markakis went 5-for-5 with three doubles, five RBI and three runs scored to help the Braves to a 9-4 win over the Cubs on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
It was a monster game for the veteran outfielder, who laced base hits in all five of his at-bats, with a trio of two-baggers. Now 35 years old, Markakis just keeps on chugging, as he's coming off a solid year that saw him slash .297/.366/.440 and this five-hit effort effort ballooned his average to .375 average over his first 24 at-bats to start 2019.

Sat 3/30/19 2:20 PM

Markakis will start in right field and hit fifth Saturday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Markakis was the Braves' primary cleanup hitter in 2018, but those duties should fall to emerging star Ronald Acuna this season. The move down to the No. 5 spot shouldn't be too damaging for Markakis, as he should have ample opportunities to drive in runs with a trio of high-on-base hitters (Josh Donaldson, Freddie Freeman and Acuna) slotting directly ahead of him on most occasions.

Markakis went 2-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Hitting fifth behind Ender Inciarte, Josh Donaldson, Freddie Freeman and Ronald Acuna -- his probable spot in the regular season -- Markakis took Masahiro Tanaka deep in the fourth inning for his first long ball of the spring. The veteran outfielder got a bit of a late start to camp but has been raking ever since, and now boasts a .450/.522/.650 slash line through 20 at-bats. With that quartet of good to excellent hitters stationed in front of him, Markakis seems poised for another big year as a run producer.
