Luke Scott delivered a grand slam and a double in the Rays' 11-5 victory over the Tigers on Tuesday. He also walked. Scott missed a week earlier this spring with a left hamstring problems, but he's now 9-for-28 with three homers and four doubles, giving him a nifty .917 slugging percentage.

Luke Scott (hamstring) homered Monday night against the Twins in his return to the Rays' spring lineup. Scott also hit a double off the left-center field wall. He was out for a week with tightness in his left hamstring but is clearly over it now. The 34-year-old will serve as the Rays' primary designated hitter this season.

Luke Scott (hamstring) is back in the lineup Monday. Scott hadn't played in over a week due to tightness in his left hamstring. He'll surely take it easy on the basepaths.

Rays manager Joe Maddon said Thursday that Luke Scott (hamstring) should be back by the beginning of next week. Scott hasn't played since leaving Sunday's game with tightness in his left hamstring. Rays manager Joe Maddon said Tuesday that Luke Scott (hamstring) is expected to return to the lineup by the end of the week. Rays re-signed DH Luke Scott to a one-year, $2.75 million contract. The deal was reported a couple weeks ago and has now become official. Scott posted an ugly .229/.285/.439 batting line in 2012 for the Rays, but he says he's finally fully recovered from shoulder surgery and has a good chance to bounce back as long as he stays healthy. He'll be Tampa's regular DH against right-handed pitching.

According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, the Rays are "set to re-sign" DH Luke Scott. The Rays declined a $6 million club option on Scott back in late October but kept an open dialogue with him throughout this offseason. The 34-year-old posted an ugly .229/.285/.439 batting line in 2012, but he has some pop and represents the Rays' best option at designated hitter. He'll carry fantasy value in AL-only leagues.

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports there's mutual interest in a reunion between the Rays and Luke Scott. The Rays declined Scott's $6 million club option for 2013 after he batted just .229/.285/.439 with 14 homers and a .725 OPS last season, but they are open to bringing him back at a lesser rate. The club was considering Delmon Young before he signed with the Phillies on Tuesday, so the odds of Scott returning have increased over the past 24 hours.
