Luke Scott (calf) has yet to run the bases. Scott was supposed to the run the bases Friday, but the cold weather in Boston scrapped that idea. He then was slated to run them Sunday but showed up sick at the ballpark. The DH is hoping to begin a rehab assignment this week and should be ready to return before the end of the month.

Luke Scott (calf) could be sidelined as long as five weeks. He'll be out 2-3 weeks at minimum, but it sounds like a longer stay on the disabled list is likely. The Rays plan to use a host of players in the designated hitter spot until Scott is healthy. Shelley Duncan and Brandon Guyer are options to replace him on the roster.

Rays manager Joe Maddon said Saturday that Luke Scott (calf) will miss the first 2-3 weeks of the season. Scott was placed on the disabled list Saturday with a right calf strain. The stint was backdated to March 24 so that Scott would be eligible to return April 8, but he is doubtful to be ready when that date rolls around. The Rays are expected to cycle in multiple players at DH.
