Jarrod Parker was diagnosed with a forearm strain. Parker suffered the injury in his ALDS Game 3 start against the Tigers. He will not need surgery and should be recovered from the strain by the middle of winter.

Jarrod Parker will undergo an MRI on his right elbow. Parker has been feeling some tightness, so the A's want to make sure nothing is seriously wrong. The right-hander noted that the tightness he's experiencing is not the same as what he felt prior to Tommy John surgery. We'll know for sure shortly whether it's something to worry about going into the offseason.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Tuesday that it looks like Jarrod Parker is battling some fatigue or dead arm symptoms. Parker gave up three runs over five innings in Monday's Game 3 victory over the Tigers, but Melvin could tell he didn't look right. Assuming the A's win the series, Melvin will see how Parker responds over the next few days before making a decision about his availability moving forward.

Jarrod Parker yielded three runs over five innings in a win over the Tigers in Game 3 of the ALDS on Monday. Parker only managed one strikeout, but he held the Tigers to five hits and one walk. This was the first postseason victory of his career. The A's will go for the series victory Tuesday when they send Dan Straily to the hill against Doug Fister.

Jarrod Parker was hit hard in Saturday's loss to the Mariners, surrendering seven runs on seven hits in only 4 1/3 innings. Parker did manage to rack up four strikeouts while walking one. All of the damage against him came via the long ball, with Justin Smoak launching a two-run shot in the first inning, and Brad Miller connecting on a pair of homers including a grand slam. The 24-year-old wraps up his regular season with a 12-8 record, 3.97 ERA and 134/63 K/BB ratio over 197 innings. He'll try to put this one behind him and hope for better results in the postseason.

Jarrod Parker tossed six innings of one-run ball in Saturday's 9-1 rout of the Twins. It was a refreshing outing from the 24-year-old right-hander, who got lit up in his return from an illness Monday against the Angels. Parker is now 12-7 with a 3.74 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 130/62 K/BB ratio in 192 2/3 innings this season. He should finish strong next week on the road against the Mariners.

Jarrod Parker was rudely welcomed back to the mound by the Angels on Monday, as he surrendered eight runs -- seven earned -- over 4 1/3 frames. Parker was scratched from his scheduled start on Sunday due to illness. He was reportedly feeling better, but the Angels may have induced a new wave of nausea. The right-hander surrendered eight hits and two walks in falling to 11-7 with a 3.81 ERA. Parker had allowed only 10 runs over his last seven starts. He has a good chance to bounce back this weekend against the Twins.

Jarrod Parker will start on Monday against the Angels. Parker had to be scratched from his scheduled start Sunday due to illness, but he's evidently feeling much better. Sonny Gray had been slated to go for the A's, but he and the rest of the team's rotation will presumably just be pushed back a day.

Jarrod Parker could start for the Athletics in Monday's series opener against the Angels. Parker was scratched from Sunday's scheduled start due to an illness, but could be cleared to return as early as Monday. It's unclear if Sonny Gray, Monday's scheduled starter, would be skipped in that scenario or if each of Oakland's starters will be given an extra day of rest.

Jarrod Parker was scratched from Sunday's start against the Rangers due to illness. Parker was throwing up all morning, and the A's decided it was best to not push him. He should be ready to go in a couple days. Tommy Milone will fill in for Parker on Sunday.
