Loney went 3-for-5 with a double, solo homer, three RBI and two runs in Friday's 10-2 victory over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran started the homer barrage against Jason Hammel with a second-inning blast, and has now hit safely in all but five games in his Mets tenure, which started on May 31. Loney has seen a recent power surge as well, having launched round-trippers in three of his last eight contests. The multi-hit effort Friday boosted his average 14 points, bringing his season line to .297/.345/.495.

Loney went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Wednesday at the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Loney's third bomb of the year got the Mets on the board in the ninth inning, and provided the team's only runs in a 4-2 loss. He's now hit safely in 15 of his last 17 games, and he's slashing .284/.336/.451.

Loney went 2-for-3 with a double, a three-run homer and three runs Friday at the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Loney's second blast of the year moved the Mets to an 8-0 lead, which ended up being huge, as they only wound up winning the game 8-6. He's now hit in 11 of his last 12 games, and he's slashing .305/.367/.463.

Loney went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 6-2 victory over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran's 100th career homer was a one-out, two-run blast off reliever Mike Dunn in the seventh inning that snapped a 2-2 tie. Loney, acquired last Saturday from the Padres, is expected to receive a solid dose of playing time at first base while Lucas Duda (back) remains sidelined. He hit seventh in the order Friday, but could potentially work his way upward in the lineup if he's able to produce.

Loney is officially activated and in the lineup Tuesday for the Mets, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Loney will start at first and make his debut in a Mets uniform at the six spot in the order. After being dealt from the Padres on Saturday in exchange for cash considerations, Loney will look to step into a much needed role with the Mets. With Lucas Duda on the DL with a stress fracture in his back, Loney will likely see a lot of playing time in the near future. Due to Loney's appearance with the club, Eric Campbell was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Loney is expected to be activated by the Mets on Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
The timing couldn't be better for Loney's acquisition, as David Wright (neck) is facing a multi-game absence, and Lucas Duda currently resides on the DL due to a stress fracture in his back. With corner infielders in short supply, look for Loney to see frequent starts, especially against right-handed pitching.

Loney was dealt to the Mets on Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
What the Padres will receive in return remains undisclosed, but Loney will head to New York and will presumably join the major league roster immediately. With Lucas Duda on the disabled list, Loney will likely platoon at first base with Wilmer Flores for the time being. Loney, who was released by Tampa Bay on Opening Day, has not played in the majors this season but holds a strong .342/.373/.424 slash line in 43 Triple-A games.

Loney agreed to a minor league deal with the Padres on Thursday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being released by the Rays on Opening Day, Loney will join the Padres on a minor league deal. At age 32, Loney can still generate contact and get on base, but his inability to drive the ball out of the park limits his upside as a first baseman. With Wil Myers entrenched at first base for San Diego, Loney will have to stay in the minors for the time being, but he could be recalled before long to serve in a pinch-hitting role with the big league club.

Loney was released by the Rays on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays were looking to trade Loney following the end of spring training after the team elected to proceed with a first base platoon of Logan Morrison and Steve Pearce, but they couldn't find any takers for the remaining $8 million on Loney's contract. Now that he's a free agent, Loney shouldn't have as much trouble finding work on a low-cost deal, but his days as a full-time starter in the majors could be over.

Loney will not be on the Rays' Opening Day roster, Steve Carney of 620 WDAE reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rays informed the veteran first baseman Wednesday that he will either be released or traded before Opening Day. ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the White Sox or Padres could be potential suitors for the 32-year-old. Loney is coming off a year in which he slashed .280/.322/.357 over 361 at-bats with the Rays and he was not having a bad spring by any means, hitting .281 with three doubles. That said, the Rays' current roster construction made Loney, a fist baseman with no power upside, an expendable asset.
