Loney went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI in Sunday's win over Minnesota. Loney had three singles and a double in an impressive performance on Sunday in Minnesota. He's now batting .273 to go along with two long balls and 10 RBI. Loney only has six extra base hits all season, and his power numbers are certainly on the decline.

Loney is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers, Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Loney went 0-for-4 in Saturday's game with a left-hander in Ross Detwiler starting for the opposition, but with the Rangers bringing southpaw Wandy Rodriguez to the hill Sunday, manager Kevin Cash will give his everyday first baseman a rest. The versatile Logan Forsythe will move over from his usual post at second base to swap in for Loney at first.

Loney is out of the lineup Saturday. With lefty Daniel Norris on the mound for the Blue Jays, the Rays will attempt to flood the lineup with righties, leaving James Loney on the bench. Logan Forsythe will get the start at first base, but Loney should be available as a pinch-hitter off the bench.

Loney was 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, and a pair of runs scored in his return from the disabled list on Friday night. It was an encouraging night for Tampa Bay with both Loney and Drew Smyly coming back from injuries and contributing to a lopsided 12-2 win over Toronto.

Loney (oblique) was activated from the disabled list Friday. With Loney and Drew Smyly (shoulder) coming off the disabled list, Allan Dykstra and Mike Mahtook are headed back to Triple-A Durham. Given that the Rays are facing Blue Jays right-hander R.A. Dickey on Friday, Loney will likely be in the starting lineup. It may be a different story Saturday and Sunday, with southpaws Daniel Norris and Mark Buehrle scheduled to pitch for Toronto.

Loney (oblique) will be activated off the disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Blue Jays. Loney went on a rehab assignment Thursday, but it appears it will be a brief one as he's expected to join the club Friday. He's played just one game so far this season, but he could add to it if he's in the lineup against the Blue Jays;

Loney (oblique) will start a rehab assignment Thursday with High-A Charlotte, the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin reports. He is expected to join the Rays during this weekend's series against the Blue Jays, so keep tabs on his status in leagues with daily lineup moves. In weekly leagues Loney should be available for next week's slate, and Allan Dykstra seems like a likely candidate to get sent down to the minors to make room on the 25-man roster.

Loney (oblique) hopes to rejoin the Rays this weekend, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Although he only expects to play in one rehab game, Loney apparently won't be ready by Wednesday, when he's first eligible to return from the disabled list. He should be back by Friday or Saturday to face the Blue Jays.

Loney (oblique) is eligible to return from the disabled list Wednesday, and he expects to be ready to return at some point this week, the Tampa Tribune reports. It sounds like Wednesday isn't quite a lock at this point for Loney, which may afford Allan Dykstra a few extra days on the Rays' 25-man roster.

Loney (oblique) fielded grounders Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. An oblique injury resulted in a DL stint for Loney, the first of his decade-long career, but it seems he's making steady progress. Manager Kevin Cash said earlier in the week that Loney should be ready close to his earliest possible activation date of April 22.
