Rodney tossed a perfect ninth for his 10th save Monday against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Rodney has recorded saves in eight straight opportunities since blowing three in a row in April and putting his job in jeopardy. Now, though, with a 2.70 ERA and a scoreless streak that has lasted him all of May, Rodney is sitting pretty as Minnesota's closer.

Rodney struck out the side to successfully convert the save Sunday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Rodney was called in to protect a two run lead, and he did so successfully to record his ninth save of the season. He has now converted his last six save opportunities, quieting talk of him losing the closer role.

Rodney pitched a clean ninth inning to record his fifth save of the season Sunday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Since blowing three consecutive saves, Rodney has settled in and now successfully recorded three save opportunities in a row without allowing a baserunner. While his job isn't among the most secure in the league, there have been no talks of him being moved out of the closer role.

Rodney pitched a hitless ninth inning Friday in a win over the White Sox, earning the save while striking out one and walking zero.
EDGE Analysis
Over his last four outings, Rodney has allowed no runs on one hit with three strikeouts and three walks across four innings, bringing his ERA down to 4.22. He is 4-for-7 in save chances, and has given up 13 hits in 10.2 innings. Rodney has allowed five walks and struck out 11, and currently sports a .344 BABIP. While somewhat unpredictable, Rodney holds the closer role in Minnesota.

Rodney worked around two walks in a scoreless ninth inning against the Reds on Saturday en route to his third save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Fans were buckling in for another bumpy ride after Rodney issued a four-pitch walk to the first batter he faced, but he went on to retire three of the next four, ending a streak of three straight blown save chances. Rodney was signed to be the closer and the Twins seem intent on keeping him in the role, but he can't afford many more hiccups in the immediate future. Addison Reed has a 2.57 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB in 14 innings.

Rodney (1-2) blew his third save of the season and took the loss Thursday against the Yankees, allowing a three-run walkoff homer to Gary Sanchez in the bottom of the ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
The inning started with a throwing error from Miguel Sano, which allowed Didi Gregorius to reach base. Giancarlo Stanton promptly followed with an infield single before Sanchez ended things with one swing of the bat. Rodney has now blown three straight save chances - all coming in his past four appearances - after converting his first two opportunities of the season. He owns an unsightly 6.75 ERA and 2.10 WHIP, but the veteran reliever has logged just 6.2 innings, and his 8:2 K:BB over that stretch is otherwise strong. There hasn't been any mention of removing Rodney from the ninth inning at this point, but the team could ultimately opt to turn to Addison Reed if Rodney's struggles continue.

Rodney blew his second save of the season in Friday's extra-inning loss to the Rays, giving up one run on one hit in an inning of work while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran closer seemed to have things under control in the ninth inning, quickly retiring the first two batters he faced, but Rodney then hit Carlos Gomez with a pitch and allowed Gomez to steal second base before serving up a game-tying single to Brad Miller. Rodney's two blown saves have come in his last three appearances, and while his 8:2 K:BB in 6.2 innings is strong, a 4.05 ERA and 1.80 WHIP highlight the volatility that's been his trademark since at least 2015.

Rodney blew a save after allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk in one inning Wednesday against the Astros, but he was bailed out by his offense in the bottom of the inning and earned the win. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Rodney allowed three of the first four batters he faced to reach base -- on a pair of singles and a walk -- before a Brian Dozier throwing error on an attempted double play allowed the Astros to tie things up. He was able to get the next batter to lineout to escape the inning with the game still tied, and a Max Kepler walkoff homer in the bottom half of the frame gifted the 41-year-old with his first win of the season. It hasn't been the smoothest start to the year for Rodney, but few walk the tightrope better than the veteran reliever.

Rodney allowed one hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to record the save Tuesday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Rodney got his second save of the season Tuesday and avoided any major danger by allowing only a single to J.D. Davis. Rodney remains locked into the closer's role in Minnesota and should continue to rack up saves.

Rodney earned a save while striking out one and walking one across one inning Thursday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Consistently among the most shaky closers in the league, Rodney has once again secured a closer's' role in 2018 and earned his first save of the season Thursday. His propensity for blow ups--he had seven outings in which he allowed multiple runs last season--makes him hard to trust as a primary closer. However, the Twins appear to be content using Addison Reed as their high leverage reliever meaning Rodney should continue to rack up saves for the time being.
