Cabrera was cited for driving under the influence of marijuana on Wednesday, a matter that the Padres say they are taking "very seriously," the Union-Tribune's Dennis Lin reports. The Padres issued a statement saying they are in the process of gathering information, but considering Cabrera was already sidelined with a hamstring injury and the team is not in contention, it would not be surprising if Cabrera being charged with a DUI leads to the Padres shutting him down for the season. In any case, he has little value in single-season leagues at this point.

Cabrera (hamstring) will not travel with the Padres during their upcoming three-game road trip to Colorado, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Cabrera still feels pain in his hamstring when running the bases, which has so far prevented him from beginning an official rehab assignment. With the minor league season nearing an end, he may eventually come straight to the majors, but it likely won't be this weekend.

Cabrera (hamstring) is still not healthy enough to begin a rehab assignment with High-A Lake Elsinore during its postseason, MLB.com's Corey Brock reports. At this rate, it's unclear if he'll be able to get in much of a rehab assignment at all, as the minor league playoffs won't last much longer. It's not a lock that he'll see many at-bats down the stretch with the Padres.

Cabrera (hamstring) likely won't begin a rehab assignment until High-A Lake Elsinore begins its postseason Wednesday, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Cabrera was expected to return to the Padres when rosters expand Sept. 1, but the team elected to push back his rehab assignment a couple of days to aid his recovery. Alexi Amarista will hang on to the starting shortstop job a little longer as a result, but Cabrera could reclaim those duties by the weekend, once he gets a few at-bats in the minors.

Cabrera (hamstring) said Monday that he expects to return from the disabled list by the end of the weekend, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Cabrera was seen jogging and hitting on the field prior to Monday's game against the Brewers, signaling that his hamstring doesn't seem to be bothering him. The Padres haven't indicated yet if Cabrera will require a rehab assignment, but since he seems to be performing a full range of baseball-related activities, it may not be necessary.

Cabrera (hamstring) took grounders and hit in a batting cage Thursday, and is expected to be cleared for light jogging Monday, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Cabrera likely won't be activated from the DL when first eligible, but the fact he's ramping up his baseball activities is a good sign. Since running his such a major part of his game, Cabrera will likely have to display comfort running at full speed before being cleared for game action. There remains a chance he'll be able to help fantasy owners with their late-season runs before the end of 2014.

Cabrera (hamstring) will resume baseball activities Thursday, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. With Cabrera just now ready to start back up with baseball activities, a return Monday when first eligible is almost certainly out of the question and return before the end of August is no lock. Alexi Amarista has started all but one game at short for the Padres since Cabrera hit the shelf.

Cabrera (hamstring) has been placed on the 15-day DL retroactive to August 10. The injury sidelined Cabrera on Sunday and Monday, and is the same hamstring that knocked him out of action earlier this season. Jake Goebbert was recalled from Triple-A El Paso to replace Cabrera on the roster.

Cabrera (hamstring) isn't in the lineup Monday vs. the Rockies. Cabrera experienced cramping in his left hamstring prior to Sunday's game and will sit out his second straight contest on account of the issue. Given that it was a left hamstring strain that resulted in Cabrera's DL stint in July, expect the Padres to proceed cautiously with the shortstop.

Cabrera was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a left hamstring cramp. Cabrera was scratched just before the first pitch Sunday with what is now known to be a hamstring injury. He is officially listed as day-to-day, but the team will likely update his timetable if it requires more than a couple days for his recovery.
