Gee (shoulder) appeared in two games this spring, allowing one run on six hits while striking out four batters and walking one across four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gee underwent surgery to manage his thoracic outlet syndrome back in September, but it seems like he's back to 100 percent following the lengthy recovery process. The right-hander spent last season as a swingman for the Royals, and he seems to be competing for a similar role if he manages to make the major league roster. However, an assignment to Triple-A seems more likely unless more injuries mar the Rangers pitching staff.

Gee (shoulder) agreed to a minor league contract with the Rangers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gee is still recovering from thoracic outlook syndrome surgery, which shut him down for the season in September last year. The injury is nothing to overlook, as it has proven to be a career-ender in the past. Even before his injury, the righty struggled in his 33 appearances with Kansas City last year, logging a 4.68 ERA over 125 innings. If he is able to return to full health, the 30-year-old will offer rotation depth, likely starting the year in Triple-A.

Gee (shoulder) cleared outright waivers and has elected free agency, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.
EDGE Analysis
He had thoracic outlet syndrome surgery on Oct. 11 and expects to be ready for spring training. However, even a healthy Gee lacks significant appeal, as his production has regressed greatly since he posted a 4.00 ERA over 137.1 innings for the Mets in 2014.

Gee hopes to be healthy by spring training, Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gee will undergo thoracic outlet syndrome surgery to cure his blood clots in the near future. Although he wants to be ready by spring training, doctors are skeptical regarding whether or not he'll be able to do so. After pitching in 33 games, Gee will end the 2016 season with a 4.68 ERA and 1.46 WHIP.

Gee has been shut down for the year after being hospitalized because of blood clots in his lungs and shoulder, the Kansas City Star's Rustin Dodd reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is the kind of medical issue that can be a career ender, so this is extremely serious. He was experiencing shortness of breath after Sunday's game and needed to be hospitalized until Tuesday.

Gee (6-8) allowed five runs on five hits and four walks with a strikeout over 3.1 innings in a loss Monday to the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Gee finally paid for his pitch to contact ways after allowing three runs or fewer in each of his previous four starts. Gee managed just two swinging strikes and one strikeout over 74 pitches. He was tagged for a three-run home run and when he tried to nibble, the Athletics weren't biting. Gee's ERA is up to 4.60 and he has struck out just 87 batters in 115.1 innings (6.8 K/9).

Gee allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings in Tuesday's no-decision against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Gee pitched to contact -- he induced just three swinging strikes -- and that approach allowed him to get through six innings. However, it also cost him, as he surrendered three home runs, all solo shots. Gee didn't walk a single batter, a key factor in his ability to keep the floodgates from bursting. He has walked more than two batters just once in 29 appearances (13 starts).

Gee pitched an inning in relief in Friday's game against the Tigers and will have his next start pushed back to Tuesday, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gee had been lined up to start Sunday, but manager Ned Yost opted to use him out of the bullpen Friday and give Edinson Volquez the start in Sunday's game. Gee's next outing will come against the Twins, who have tagged him for 11 earned runs in 18.1 innings (5.40 ERA) over four matchups this season.

Gee (6-7) allowed one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts over six innings in a win Monday over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
This is the ideal Gee start -- he pitched to contact, avoided walks, and kept the ball in the yard. Gee induced 11 flyouts, using spacious Kauffman Stadium to his advantage. He induced just two swinging strikeouts in the process, though, and his inability to miss bats makes him vulnerable to home runs and big innings and is the main reason he owns a mediocre 4.37 ERA.

Gee (5-7) pitched 5.1 innings of three-run ball against the Marlins on Wednesday, yielding five hits and striking out three and receiving the loss.
EDGE Analysis
Gee was cruising through five innings Wednesday, allowing just one hit and no runs entering the sixth, when the trouble began. After retiring the first batter, Gee allowed four consecutive singles that plated two runs before he was removed after just 76 pitches, 50 of them for strikes. Marcell Ozuna then hit a sacrifice fly to tag Gee with his third earned run of the night. It was somewhat of an unfortunately loss for Gee, who pitched well and did not surrender a single extra-base hit while his team was shutout by fireballer Jose Fernandez. Gee now has a 4.55 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP.
