Wright (shoulder) is scheduled to meet with doctors before the month for a reevaluation before the next step in his rehab process is determined, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been just over two years since Wright last appeared in an MLB game, but the 35-year-old has yet to consider retirement despite having endured significant shoulder, back and neck injuries over the last few seasons. The health of Wright's surgically repaired right shoulder is the chief concern at the moment, as the Mets captain has spent the past two months doing strengthening exercises with the hope that doctors will clear him for baseball activities. Even if Wright receives positive news following his checkup, his extended time off likely means that he probably won't be ready to return from the 60-day disabled list until shortly after the All-Star break, in a best-case scenario. It thus remains more likely than not that Wright won't suit up for the Mets this season.

Wright (shoulder) hopes to be cleared for baseball activities in late May, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright is seeing a doctor for a follow-up examination at the end of May and could be cleared for baseball activities at that time. Even if he is indeed cleared, he would likely need to go through a full spring training style process in order to get ready to play. He hasn't appeared in the big leagues since 2016 and has played in only 75 games since 2014, so the odds of him being effective if he ever makes it back to the field are quite low.

Wright (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets needed a roster spot for recently-claimed reliever Buddy Baumann, and since Wright isn't near a return to action, he was an easy choice to cast off the 40-man roster temporarily. The embattled infielder still remains without a timeline to return.

Wright (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day DL on Thursday, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was fully expected. Wright continues to deal with the effects of spinal stenosis, and his shoulder has been an issue as well. He admitted in February that he wasn't confident about his chances of playing again. Expect a move to the 60-day DL whenever the Mets need to free up a spot on the 40-man roster.

Wright will be shut down for eight weeks after disclosing that his shoulder and back problems continue to bother him, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a tough blow for the veteran third baseman, as he is now essentially guaranteed to miss two years of action dating back to the original time of his injury (May of 2016). The Mets will likely continue to play things slowly with Wright, especially given that they have a perfectly competent short-term replacement at third in Todd Frazier in addition to Wilmer Flores, Asdrubal Cabrera, Jose Reyes and T.J. Rivera (elbow).

Wright is still in the process of building up strength in his shoulder and back and hasn't received clearance to swing a bat or begin throwing during spring training, Steve Popper of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
With just over three weeks to go until Opening Day and Wright without a timetable for returning to the field, it seems inevitable that the 35-year-old will begin the season on the disabled list. The bigger question is whether Wright, who last appeared in a game for the Mets on May 27, 2016, will ever progress to the point that he can resume his playing career. Wright is due $47 million over the next three seasons thanks to the eight-year contract extension he inked with the Mets in December 2012.

Wright (shoulder) wants to keep trying to play, but is not confident about his chances, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While he was optimistic and said all the right things, it was clear from his tone with reporters that he's aware that his career might be over. The Mets signed Todd Frazier this offseason to man the hot corner, so they are clearly prepared to move on without Wright in the fold.

General manager Sandy Alderson said Wright (shoulder) has yet to begin baseball activity, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Wright is determined to make it back to the field in 2018, this is pretty discouraging news with spring training rapidly approaching. Since being diagnosed with spinal stenosis in 2015, the 35-year-old has appeared in just 75 games -- with none coming in 2017 -- and undergone multiple surgeries to address issues with his back, neck and shoulder. The Mets are expected to assess him when he arrives in St. Lucie around the start of February, and his status should hopefully clear up shortly thereafter.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson is expected to provide an update later this month regarding Wright's (shoulder, back) health heading into spring training, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright has been limited to just 75 appearances over the past three seasons -- with none coming in 2017 -- after enduring a litany of surgeries to address spinal stenosis, in addition to one in September to repair the rotator cuff in his right shoulder. The veteran third baseman, who also underwent his most recent back procedure a month later, hopes to keep his playing career going, but admitted that he's uncertain if he'll be able to return to a high level of play again. Alderson should shed more light on Wright's condition in the near future, but even if the 35-year-old is dealing with no reported setbacks from his fall surgeries, he'll likely face some limitations in spring training.

Wright (shoulder) was reinstated from the 60-day DL on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Wright underwent surgery on his back in early October, which comes after he missed the entire 2017 season due to shoulder and back ailments. The 34-year-old has only played in 75 games between the last two seasons, but appears to be gearing up for another year, and should be ready to go by spring training, barring any additional setbacks.
