Gentry left Friday's game against the Blue Jays in the fourth inning with a middle finger laceration.
EDGE Analysis
Gentry, who was only in the game because Adam Jones was ejected in the first inning, was replaced in center field by Joey Rickard. With expanded rosters, the Orioles can afford to give Gentry a few days to let the cut heal up. Consider him day-to-day.

Gentry is 11-for-30 (.367) with a .906 OPS over 15 games since being recalled on July 30.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran utility man has done a nice job during his third round of MLB action this season. That said, Gentry has started only seven of the 24 games since July 30, making him unworthy of a fantasy roster spot on a consistent basis. However, until he cools down, the 33-year-old is a good dart to throw in daily formats when he's in the lineup.

The Orioles selected Gentry's contract from Triple-A Norfolk and inserted him into the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports. Gentry will bat ninth and man right field.
EDGE Analysis
Gentry will assume the 40-man and active roster spot of Hyun Soo Kim, who was packaged to the Phillies in the Jeremy Hellickson trade Friday. The Orioles view Gentry strictly as a depth option who can back up every outfield spot, but he'll gain entry into the starting nine Sunday with Mark Trumbo nursing a stiff back.

Gentry cleared waivers and was assigned outright to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
A spot was needed for the returning Chris Davis (oblique), and Gentry was the roster casualty. It makes sense as Gentry is mostly limited to the outfield corners, defensively, and he's hit just .175/.273/.263 in 48 games this season. The 33-year-old will look to get on track with Norfolk and earn his way back onto the 40-man before the end of the season.

Gentry is starting in right field and hitting ninth Saturday against Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old will make his fifth start since returning to the big-league club on June 20 (17 games). With a brutal .185 batting average through 46 contests this season, Gentry is no more than a punt play Saturday in daily leagues.

Gentry's contract was selected from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Since being sent back to the minors, the veteran outfielder found some success at the plate, slashing .275/.345/.382 during his time with the Tides. He'll head back to the big leagues to offer reserve outfield depth. To make room for him on the active roster, David Washington was optioned to Triple-A and Zach Britton (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day DL.

Gentry was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder ended up being the odd-man out when the Orioles needed a roster spot for Welington Castillo to return from the DL. It comes as a bit of a surprise given that the Orioles are now carrying three catchers on the major-league roster, although Gentry's .162 batting average and sparse playing time certainly didn't help his cause. He already passed through waivers, so he'll act as organizational depth for the time being.

Gentry was a late addition to the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays. He'll man right field and bat eighth in the order.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles made Chris Davis a late scratch with a sore right elbow, so Trey Mancini will cover Davis' usual spot at first base while Gentry enters the outfield. Now that Joey Rickard is healthy, Gentry looks like the Orioles' fifth outfielder, meaning he probably won't be in line for regular starts even in a platoon role.

Gentry went 2-for-5 with a home run, his first of the season, and three RBI in Sunday's win over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Hitting from the leadoff spot, the outfielder overcame an awful 1-for-12 start with a big performance in Sunday's slugfest. Gentry is still hitting just .118/.211/.176 with five strikeouts over his first 11 games, though. He'll continue to see increased playing time while Joey Rickard (finger) is sidelined; however, Gentry's not expected to get routine at-bats which limits his appeal.

Gentry will start in left field and lead off for the Orioles in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
So long as Joey Rickard (finger) remains on the disabled list, it looks like Gentry will serve as the Orioles' leadoff hitter against left-handed pitching. That may give him some appeal as a punt-play option in the outfield for DFS, but Gentry's 1-for-12 start to the season along with his standing in the short end of a platoon in left field with Hyun Soo Kim limits his attractiveness in most season-long leagues.
