Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Sunday that Gentry (ribs) isn't close to returning from the 10-day disabled list, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Showalter didn't offer up a projected timetable on Gentry, but it appears safe to conclude the outfielder won't be in line for an activation immediately after the All-Star break. Gentry has reported to the Orioles' spring training facility in Sarasota, Fla. to begin his rehab for the rib injury, which resulted in his placement on the DL in late June.

Gentry (ribs) is close to starting baseball activities, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will head to Sarasota to start working out at the Orioles' spring training complex. Given this news, it sounds highly unlikely that Gentry comes off the disabled list until after the All-Star break.

Gentry was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a rib injury, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gentry -- who recently took a fastball to the ribs against the Braves -- was unavailable Tuesday and will now make his way to the disabled list to give his non-displaced rib additional time to heal. Manager Buck Showalter reported that it's not a long-term setback, but the outfielder will likely miss more than the required 10 days.

Gentry is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
With no DH spot available in Washington's NL ballpark, Gentry will head to the bench while Mark Trumbo picks up a start at first base and Trey Mancini moves to the outfield. Gentry is hitting a solid .308/.357/.346 across 12 games this month.

Gentry went 3-for-3 with a double and a stolen base in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The O's only scraped together five hits all night, and Gentry's fifth-inning two-bagger was the team's only extra-base hit. His nine steals are already his highest total since he swiped 20 in 2014, but otherwise the veteran outfielder has offered very little fantasy value this season, posting a .237/.297/.290 slash line with zero homers, seven runs and seven RBI through 102 plate appearances.

Gentry will start in center field and bat eighth Sunday against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gentry will pick up his fourth straight start, but that's largely a byproduct of Mark Trumbo's knee injury rather than a result of Gentry's performance at the plate earning him more playing time. Though he's valued by the Orioles for his ability to play all over the outfield, Gentry's .208/.274/.260 batting line on the season makes him a rather unappealing commodity outside of AL-only settings.

Gentry went 2-for-4 during Sunday's loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Gentry is struggling at the dish through his first 32 games, slashing .224/.278/.284 with just five RBI in 32 games. Although his playing time has been inconsistent, he's failed to produce at the plate] and will need to turn it around soon if he wants to avoid a minor-league stint.

Gentry will start in center field and bat eighth Sunday against the Tigers, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's the third consecutive start for Gentry, but much of that has to do with the Orioles opposing a left-handed pitcher for the second straight day. The righty-hitting Gentry still looks to be locked into the short end of a platoon in the outfield and won't offer much fantasy upside when he's included in the lineup. Gentry is slashing a porous .178/.229/.178 across 48 plate appearances this season.

Gentry is starting in left field and batting ninth Monday against the Indians, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gentry is in the starting lineup for a third straight game with Trey Mancini still sidelined with a sore knee, but he'll drop to ninth in the order after going 0-for-8 as the Orioles' leadoff man in the previous two games. He's expected to return to a reserve role once Mancini is ready to return, which could be as early as Tuesday.

Gentry will bat leadoff and start in left field Sunday against the Indians, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gentry will set the table for the Orioles for the second straight day with Trey Mancini (knee) unavailable. Though Mancini is expected to avoid the disabled list after a recent MRI on his knee returned negative, it seems unlikely that he'll be able to play until at least Tuesday's series opener against the Rays. As a result, Gentry, who went 0-for-4 on Saturday, could be in store for another leadoff assignment Monday against Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco.
