Young is expected to see increased playing time in left field after Andrew Benintendi (knee) was placed on the DL on Thursday, Sean McAdam of Comcast Sports Net reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Benintendi set to miss at least two weeks, and potentially more, both Young and Brock Holt are expected to fill the void in left field. However, manager John Farrell indicated Thursday morning that Young will get the "majority of the at-bats," while Holt will enter the lineup against "some" right-handers.

Young will likely take over the everyday duties in left field if Andrew Benintendi is forced to miss significant time due to a left-knee injury, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young replaced Benintendi during Wednesday's game when the rookie suffered what looked like a significant injury. He'll undergo an MRI on Thursday, which should give us a clearer picture about the injury and, by extension, Young's role in the immediate future.

Young started in left field Monday night and went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two walks in Boston's 6-2 win over the Rays. It was Young's first game action since suffering a hamstring injury June 23.
EDGE Analysis
Young was put immediately to work upon being activated off the disabled list as Tampa Bay was throwing left-hander Blake Snell. The speculation surrounding Young's return was that he would work in a platoon with rookie Andrew Benintendi, but the Red Sox had Benintendi in center field, giving Jackie Bradley some rest. Manager John Farrell has some flexibility with the outfielders -- Benintendi came up as a center fielder, Mookie Betts can play center, Bradley can play anywhere -- but Young should find himself in the lineup most every night against left-handed starters.

The Red Sox activated Young (hamstring) from the disabled list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Young is set to return to action after missing nearly two months with his hamstring injury. He will work as a backup at all three outfield positions, but his playing time figures to be limited with all three starting outfielders putting up productive numbers with the bat, and Brock Holt also in the outfield mix as well.

Young (hamstring) could be back with the Red Sox as early as Monday, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young has been on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Pawtucket, and it was reported earlier in the week that he's not experiencing any discomfort in his injured right hamstring. Assuming that remains the case, expect to see the outfielder back with the big league club sometime early next week, at which point the team will need to make a corresponding roster move.

Young is not feeling any pain in his right hamstring during his rehabilitation stint at Triple-A Pawtucket, Evan Drellich of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young is three games and nine at-bats into a rehab stint that is planned to last between 20 and 25 at-bats. When he's ready to rejoin Boston, it's unclear if he'll be part of a right-lefty platoon in left field along with rookie Andrew Benintendi. The rookie has hit well since his callup, but has just eight at-bats against left-handed pitchers.

Young (hamstring) went 0-for-2 in his first rehabilitation appearance for Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The plan is for Young to get between 20-25 at-bats while on rehab before he rejoins the Red Sox, barring any setbacks.

Young (hamstring) will begin his rehab assignment Thursday, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The club plans to have Young take approximately 25 at-bats, so he's expected to return to Boston somewhere in the realm of 10 days. When he's activated from the DL, it's expected that Young will share time in left field with Andrew Benintendi. However, until he returns, expect Benintendi to be Boston's go-to man.

Young (hamstring) is expected to begin his rehab assignment either Wednesday or Thursday, Evan Drellich of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
With this latest news, it appears that a return by the end of next week is entirely possible for Young. Upon his return, it's likely that Young will get the nod to start in left field against left-handed pitching, while Andrew Benintendi will continue to be Boston's starter against righties.

Young (hamstring) rounded the bases aggressively Sunday and if all goes well, could head out on a rehab assignment in the next couple days, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young appears ready for the final step in his rehab process before rejoining the Red Sox, but is expected to require 3-7 games or more before doing so. When healthy, he should factor back into the left field mix.
