Norris said he expects to avoid the 10-day disabled list, but will "need a few days to recover and do treatments" on his tight triceps, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Norris suffered the injury during Saturday's game against the Cubs, exiting with trainers in the top of the tenth inning after recording just two outs. He'll likely undergo further testing in the coming days to determine the severity of the injury. While Norris believes he'll be good to go after taking a few days off, the Cardinals will likely proceed cautiously with the veteran reliever. Greg Holland and Tyler Lyons are candidates to fill in as closer while Norris is sidelined.

Norris left Saturday's game against the Cubs with team trainers, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Norris got two outs in the top of the tenth before leaving with the team's training staff. No specific injury has been reported yet. The veteran reliever was being used in his fourth game in five days.

Norris logged his sixth save in a win over the White Sox on Wednesday, firing 1.1 scoreless innings in which he recorded two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Back in the full-time closer role for now, Norris was perfect while getting four outs on an efficient 16 pitches. The veteran righty has now posted five straight scoreless efforts, a stretch during which he's allowed just one hit across 5.1 innings.

Norris (1-0) got the win by pitching a perfect ninth inning in a comeback victory over the White Sox on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Norris came into the game trailing by one, and earned the win when the Cardinals scored twice on White Sox closer Joakim Soria in the bottom of the ninth. Norris needed only nine pitches (eight strikes) to get through the inning, marking the third time in his last four outings that he's completed an inning on less than 10 pitches. With a 1.88 ERA and 0.98 WHIP, in addition to 20 strikeouts in 14.1 innings, the right-hander seems to be the guy to close out games in St. Louis.

Norris notched his second hold in an extra-innings loss to the Pirates on Friday, allowing a hit over a scoreless eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Norris' previously sore arm appears to be completely behind him, as he's now generated scoreless one-inning efforts on back-to-back nights. The 33-year-old right-hander hasn't allowed a run in four of the last five trips to the mound overall, lowering his ERA to an impressive 2.03 in the process.

Norris fired a scoreless eighth inning in an extra-innings win over the Mets on Thursday, recording two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Norris had been ruled out of Tuesday's series opener with arm soreness, but he'd reportedly been available to pitch Wednesday if necessary. While he ultimately wasn't called up on in that game, the veteran reliever was brought on for the eighth Thursday and was impressive while firing 12 of 16 pitches for strikes in his one frame. Norris is a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities thus far, but with fellow reliever Greg Holland continuing to round into form after not signing until Opening Day, it appears the latter may be the go-to option in the ninth on most days moving forward.

Norris (arm) will be available to pitch Wednesday against the Mets, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Norris was unavailable during Tuesday's game due to arm soreness but it doesn't look like that injury will have a long-standing effect on the reliever moving forward. He's appeared in 11 games for the Cardinals this season, logging a 2.38 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with an 18:2 K:BB over 11.1 innings.

Norris was unavailable to pitch in Tuesday's loss to the Mets due to arm soreness, but neither he nor manager Mike Matheny are concerned, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports. "We're pretty convinced it's just a one-day thing," Matheny said.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals' de facto closer to open the season, Norris last took the hill Sunday against the Reds, firing a perfect eighth inning in the 9-2 victory. However, after already logging 11 appearances to start the season -- nine of an inning or more -- the 33-year-old apparently needed an extra day or two of down time. His lack of availability isn't expected to extend past Tuesday, however, with Norris echoing his skipper's sentiments by deeming himself "100 percent ready to go" for Wednesday's game.

Norris fired a scoreless eighth inning in a win over the Reds on Sunday, recording a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
The de facto closer for the time being worked the eighth Sunday with the Cardinals holding a comfortable lead, as manager Mike Matheny experimented with having Greg Holland work the ninth for only the second time this season. Norris was as impressive as he's often been in higher-leverage scenarios, needing just eight pitches -- six which he threw for strikes -- to wrap up his sole frame. It remains to be seen if Matheny will still revert to Norris, who's a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities, the next time he needs a win closed out.

Norris secured the save in Friday's win over the Reds, giving up one run on two hits while issuing one walk and no strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Norris got the call again for the ninth, and now has five saves on the season. Norris' last four appearances have all been save opportunities, and he's converted all of them. He has allowed a run in two of those four appearances, but nonetheless he appears to be the trusted guy right now for saves in the St. Louis bullpen. He's sporting a 17:2 K:BB ratio through 10.1 innings on top of a 2.61 ERA. Things may change in the Cardinals' bullpen with Greg Holland there, but at the moment Norris seems to be the primary guy for save chances.
