Norris worked around a walk with one strikeout in a scoreless inning of work to earn his 23rd save of the season Tuesday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Norris put the tying man on with a one-out walk, but he retired the next two batters to end the threat. He needed just 16 pitches to retire the side, throwing 10 for strikes as he posted his seventh consecutive scoreless outing. Norris' struggles from July are clearly behind him, with his ERA sitting at a tidy 2.87 ERA to go along with a 1.02 WHIP.

Norris struck out two in a clean inning of work to earn his 21st save of the season Sunday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Norris made quick work of the home team in this one, throwing seven of 11 pitches for strikes as he retired the side in order. He's been quite effective of late, tossing six consecutive scoreless innings to lower his ERA to a sharp 2.93. Norris is in the midst of a strong season as the Cards' full-time closer and should continue seeing save chances as they fight for playoff positioning in the second half.

Norris will not be available out of the bullpen for Wednesday's game against Cincinnati, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Norris picked up his 19th save of the season during Tuesday's victory over the Reds, which was his third appearance in the past four days. Due to that usage, interim manager Mike Shildt said Norris will not be available for the series finale. Since Jordan Hicks is also in the same boat, look for a combination of Luke Gregerson and Greg Holland near the end of the game.

Norris worked around a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning of work to earn his 19th save of the season Tuesday against the Reds. He recorded one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Norris allowed the leadoff man to reach and later issued an intentional walk before getting the final out to secure the win. It was a nice bounce-back effort after the veteran allowed five men to reach base the previous night, indicating that he still has a secure role as the team's closer. Norris still holds a solid 3.29 ERA and a sharp 1.10 WHIP for the season.

Norris (3-3) allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning in a loss to the Reds on Monday. He also recorded a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Norris was the goat on a night where rookie Daniel Poncedeleon was brilliant, throwing seven no-hit innings in his major-league debut. Tasked with protecting a 1-0 lead in the ninth, the veteran right-hander was seemingly on his way to another save after he set down the dangerous duo of Scooter Gennett and Joey Votto on a strikeout and liner, respectively. However, he couldn't quite get past Eugenio Suarez, who tagged him for a game-tying solo home run. Norris failed to retire another batter, ultimately surrendering a game-winning single to pinch hitter Dilson Herrera. It was the third blown save of the season for Norris, who's uncharacteristically allowed a combined three earned runs over two of his last three outings.

Norris (arm) was available out of the bullpen for Thursday's series opener against the Cubs, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Norris was reportedly suffering from arm soreness leading into the final game of the first half against the Reds last Sunday and was not utilized in that contest. He didn't make an appearance in Thursday's 9-6 loss to the Cubs either, but Langosch's report confirms that the veteran is apparently back to health and available going forward.

Norris' MRI results on his right finger came back clean Friday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Norris will play catch Friday to see how the finger feels, although he's hopeful that he won't require a stint on the disabled list. He likely won't be available to pitch tonight, per Trezza, but if the finger doesn't bother him during his throwing session, expect the Cardinals to resume using him out of the bullpen within the next few days.

Norris said after his appearance Wednesday in the Cardinals' 8-4 win over the Diamondbacks that he felt soreness on the inside of his right index finger, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Norris entered the game in a non-save situation and worked a scoreless ninth inning, striking out two while allowing no hits and a walk in the 15-pitch appearance. Despite the solid results, the relief outing didn't come without drama, as he required a visit on the mound -- presumably due to the injury -- and the Cardinals had reliever John Brebbia warming up in the bullpen if Norris was unable to finish. Norris ultimately got the job done, but he noted afterward the injury provided complications in gripping his sinker and cutter. The right-hander plans to monitor the injury, but it's uncertain if he'll have to miss any time because of it.

Norris secured his 16th save in Monday's win over the Diamondbacks, recording a strikeout in a perfect ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Norris was typically reliable in the final frame, mowing through John Ryan Murphy, Nick Ahmed and Ketel Marte on just 12 pitches. The right-handed closer has notched saves in three of his last four appearances, and he now an impressive 16-for-18 in save opportunities overall While fellow reliever Greg Holland has been shown considerable improvement since returning from the disabled list, Norris' ninth-inning job appears secure.

Norris struck out a batter in a clean ninth inning for his 15th save Monday against Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Norris needed just seven pitches to dispatch Cleveland. It was a necessary stress free outing considering he has had just one perfect ninth inning in his past six appearances and had blown two of his four save opportunities in June. Norris is a solid 15-for-17 in save chances on the season, but cracks have started to show, and his 3.21 ERA is far from elite.
