Ramirez is not in the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Ramirez will sit for the second straight Sunday afternoon contest after making five straight starts at the hot corner. The veteran third baseman has homered four times in May and owns a .805 OPS on the month, but will give way to Elian Herrera for a matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Ramirez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Braves. Ramirez had started the last five games for the Brewers, doing so for just the second time since the beginning of the season. He's dealt with his fair share of ailments during what is presumably his final MLB season, and manager Craig Counsell likely believed he could use a regular maintenance day. The 36-year-old is hitless in his last three games.

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over Detroit on Tuesday. Ramirez capped off a back-to-back-to-back effort that the Brewers put on Anibal Sanchez in the third inning. Ryan Braun and Adam Lind hit consecutive long balls before Ramirez stepped up to make it three straight. He now has five home runs and 14 RBI so far this season. When healthy, Ramirez is a solid fantasy option at the hot corner.

Ramirez (back) will return to the lineup Friday against the Mets. Ramirez missed six straight games due to a lower-back issue, but he'll finally rejoin the lineup Friday, batting fifth. However, back issues have a tendency for recurrence, especially for players Ramirez's age, so the team may take a cautious approach with him to avoid re-injury.

Ramirez's back is improving, but he will be held out of the lineup again Wednesday in advance of a team off day, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. It's not clear if Ramirez could have played Wednesday, but with a team off day coming Thursday and fill-in third baseman Elian Herrera homering in three straight games, manager Craig Counsell will take the cautious route and hold Ramirez out another day. Ramirez could be back in the lineup as soon as Friday, but if it is determined that day that he needs more time to recover, the Brewers may consider a backdated disabled list stint since he would have already missed a week's worth of action.

Ramirez (back) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the White Sox. Ramirez continues to deal with a lingering back pain issue, and will give way to Elian Herrera at the hot corner for the fifth straight game. It's unclear at this point when manager Craig Counsell will have the talented third baseman's bat back in the lineup.

Ramirez (back) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs. Ramirez will have now sat each game of the series against his former team, giving way to Elian Herrera at the hot corner on each of those days. Even with Carlos Gomez (hip) back in action Sunday, the Milwaukee lineup will still not quite be at full strength. Consider the veteran day-to-day in advance of Monday's series opener against the White Sox.

Ramirez (back) remains out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Ramirez was held out of Friday's game with tightness in his lower-back, and it appears he's still battling the ailment. Elian Herrera will get the start at third base and hit eighth for the second straight game. Consider Ramirez day-to-day and questionable to play Sunday afternoon.
