Romine will start at shortstop and bat ninth Wednesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Romine had been seeing most of his starts in right field lately with Alex Presley (oblique) on the disabled list, but he'll give way to Jim Adduci at that position Wednesday and instead move back to the infield with Jose Iglesias (wrist) day-to-day. In the event Iglesias also lands on the DL, Romine would have another avenue to picking up at-bats, though the younger, higher-upside Dixon Machado would probably be manager Brad Ausmus' preferred replacement at shortstop more often than not.

Romine went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer Friday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Romine's fourth blast of the year gave the Tigers a meaningless run in the ninth inning of a home loss. He's been a weak fantasy option, based on his .232/.298/.370 slash line.

Romine went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Romine has set a new career high in home runs in just 58 games this season, but that's not saying much. He's still slugging just .361 in 166 at-bats. At least Romine has been starting against most right-handers since Alex Presley (concussion) was placed on the 7-day DL.

Romine went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored Saturday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
It was a nice night for Romine, who had been struggling in June with a .214 average and a .456 OPS in 29 plate appearances this month entering Saturday. His double in the seventh inning was his first extra-base hit of the month. The utilityman likely won't see consistent playing time with the Tigers anytime soon.

Romine is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Since Ian Kinsler (hamstring) landed on the disabled list, the Tigers have used a platoon of Romine and Dixon Machado at second base, with the former receiving most of the starts at keystone due to his ability to hit from the left side. Though Romine is a switch hitter, manager Brad Ausmus prefers to use the right-handed Machado against lefty pitching, so Romine will take a seat Sunday with southpaw David Holmberg starting for the White Sox. Machado will also assume Romine's usual spot at the top of the order.

Romine is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Royals, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Romine has seized the leadoff spot while Ian Kinsler (hamstring) sits on the DL, but Romine will get a night off despite picking up his second straight two-hit game Monday. Dixon Machado will take over at the keystone in his stead.

Romine will start at second base and lead off Sunday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
It's the third straight game in the leadoff role for Romine, who could end up sticking atop the lineup and at second base for the duration of Ian Kinsler's (hamstring) absence. Ideally, the Tigers would prefer to deploy Romine in a utility role off the bench, as he's slashing an unremarkable .229/.311/.347 on the season. He'll likely lose out on regular at-bats once Kinsler is healthy again.

Romine is batting eighth and playing first base in the Tigers' Thursday game against the Orioles, Matthew Mowery of The Oakland Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
He's filling in for Miguel Cabrera, who's nursing an oblique strain but is expected to return in the next few days. Romine will take his cuts against the rolling Dylan Bundy but could be a decent punt play in DFS.

Romine was a late addition to Thursday's lineup and will bat eighth against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Jim Adduci was a late scratch Thursday due to an undisclosed issue, leading manager Brad Ausmus to slide Tyler Collins over to right field and plug Romine in center field. Romine had led off each of the last five games entering Thursday, going 4-for-20 with a double and a triple in that span. He'll face right-hander JC Ramirez in the series opener.
