Bailey exited Wednesday's game following the sixth inning with a left leg or hamstring injury, Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey finished off the inning with a strikeout, but limped off the field and went down the tunnel with the trainer. While his absence likely wouldn't have much of an overall impact in most fantasy leagues, those interested should check back in the coming days for updates on his status.

EDGE Analysis
Bailey has a 6:2 K:BB in four innings since his recall from Triple-A. He has been used as a multi-inning reliever in both of his appearances. He may be no better than third in the pecking order for save chances behind Jeanmar Gomez at the moment. Hector Neris and David Hernandez have been used in higher leverage situations in front of Gomez.

Manager Pete Mackanin said he has yet to determine where Bailey fits into his pen, but he will not be made the closer, Ryan Lawrence of the Philly Voice reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley this week. He was in the mix for closing duties this spring, but was sent to the minors to give him time to build up more arm strength. Jeanmar Gomez is currently closing for the Phillies, but he is no sure bet to hold the job all year. Bailey could work his way into the closing role if he pitches well and if Gomez hits a rough patch.

Bailey' had his contract selected by the Phillies on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey dominated Triple-A hitters in the early going, striking out 10 batters and only allowing one run in five innings of work, giving the Phillies a good reason to slot him into their bullpen. To make room for him on the 40-man roster, left-hander James Russell was designated for assignment.

Bailey was assigned to minor league camp following Friday's spring game, MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey was the frontrunner for the closer's job no more than a week ago, according to manager Pete Mackanin, but a rough couple outings prevented him from grabbing not only that role, but a roster spot as well. It remains to be seen if he will remain with the Phillies or seek out a new organization.

Bailey pitched a clean eighth inning in Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey needed a good outing after giving up four runs in his previous two outings. Manager Pete Mackanin told Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia after the outing that Bailey "looked OK" and that he still wants "to see more from him." There is a chance Bailey heads to the minors at the start of the year since he cannot opt out of his contract until May 1. If that happens, Dalier Hinojosa or David Hernandez would likely open the year as the Phillies' closer.

Bailey allowed one run on two hits in an inning of work against the Tigers on Saturday. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey has been hit around a bit in his last two appearances. Manager Pete Mackanin told Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia that he wants to see more velocity and better command from Bailey. Salisbury speculates that the Phillies might send Bailey, who has a May 1 opt out in his contract, to Triple-A at the start of the season so he can continue to build arm strength and refine his command. It would be a surprising move after Mackanin called Bailey the front runner for closing duties last week. David Hernandez and Dalier Hinojosa are the other candidates to close for the Phillies.
