Manager Pete Mackanin said Bailey is the front runner for the Phillies' closing job, the PhillyVoice reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey got the vote of confidence from his manager even after allowing three runs on four hits Tuesday. Mackanin did also add that he would like to see improved velocity from Bailey, who was hovering around 90 mph with his fastball Tuesday. David Hernandez and Dalier Hinojosa also remain in the mix for closing duties. A decision might not come until the Phillies break camp next week.

Pitching coach Bob McClure said he is leaning toward Bailey as his choice to close for the Phillies, the team's official site reports. "Bailey has done it before, so just talking about it, I would lean more towards looking at him as the guy, only because he's done it before and had success," McClure said. "But it could change. It could change. I'm kind of up in the air on it a little bit."
EDGE Analysis
Bailey has allowed one hit and struck out five in four scoreless innings this spring. He has closing experience, but has struggled to overcome shoulder issues since 2012. He remains in competition with David Hernandez, Edward Mujica and Dalier Hinojosa for closing duties.

Bailey is making a good impression to win a spot in the Phillies' bullpen, CSN Philadelphia reports. "Bailey looks awfully good," manager Pete Mackanin said. "He has a great attitude and a good demeanor on the mound. He throws strikes."
EDGE Analysis
Bailey's career has been derailed by shoulder problems, but he is healthy this spring. He has pitched four scoreless innings this spring with a 5:0 K:BB ratio. He's in the mix for the Phillies' closing role as well, though David Hernandez is expected to get that job if healthy.

Bailey pitched a scoreless inning in his spring debut Friday. He allowed one hit and struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey, a non-roster invitee and former All-Star closer, was hitting 93 mph with his fastball according to the PhillyVoice. He is competing for a bullpen spot and a shot at the closing gig with the Phillies. He hasn't had a fully healthy season in the majors since 2011 due to shoulder issues.

Bailey signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Thursday, which includes an invite to spring training, MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has pitched just 52.2 big league innings since 2012, due to injuries and shoddy performance, but this is a low-risk move that could pay off for the Phillies if Bailey can regain his form from several years ago.

Bailey had his club option declined Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey made just 10 appearances with the Yankees this season, recording a 5.19 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 8.2 innings. He could be an interesting buy-low candidate for a pitching-needy team this offseason, but his fantasy value will largely be determined by his health -- the 31-year-old has pitched in just 52.2 innings the past three seasons.

Bailey allowed three runs while recording just one out, as he picked up the loss Wednesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
After a two year absence, Bailey has struggled in his return to the big leagues, as he's now sporting an even 9.00 ERA through eight innings pitched. He'll be a free agent after the season, but having a full offseason and spring training will likely help wherever he lands.

Bailey walked two and allowed a run while recording just one out in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
With the Yankees holding a double-digit lead, manager Joe Girardi went with Bailey for his first appearance in a big league game since July of 2013. The 31-year-old struggled a bit, as he walked the first two batters he faced before allowing a sacrifice fly and a run-scoring single. Still, it's an encouraging sign to see him back out on a major league mound, and he figures to see some more appearances as a lower-leverage option out of the bullpen.

Bailey was officially recalled by the Yankees on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty hasn't pitched at the major league level since 2013 as a member of the Red Sox. A shoulder injury slowed his progress earlier in the summer, but Bailey has compiled a strong 1.80 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 35.0 innings across four minor league levels this season.

Bailey (shoulder) was activated off the Triple-A DL on Thursday and assigned to High-A Tampa, The Westchester Journal News reports. Bailey was attempting to work his way back to the majors for the first time since July of 2013, but a setback in April forced the righty to be shut down for nearly two months. He'll likely continue to work his way up through the organizational ranks, but after two full years off, it's unclear if he'll get the opportunity to join the big league team at any point this season.
