Oberholtzer signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies on Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw has a fair amount of big-league experience, but he hasn't found all that much success at the highest level. Oberholtzer has a 4.36 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP in 324 career innings. He most recently spent time with the Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate as a starter, and it seems like he'll fill a similar organizational depth role with Colorado.

Oberholtzer was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old cleared waivers after spending one day on Toronto's 40-man roster. Oberholtzer could return to the majors if the Blue Jays are in need of a spot start, but for the time being the southpaw will remain in Triple-A.

Oberholtzer was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Tuesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Oberholtzer was cut loose in order to clear room on the roster for Norichika Aoki, who was acquired from the Astros on Monday. The southpaw didn't make an appearance for the big club this season, and he held just a 4.48 ERA across 94.1 innings with Triple-A Buffalo, so it's possible he'll return to the Bisons if he passes through waivers untouched.

Oberholtzer was called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the departure of Francisco Liriano via trade, Oberholtzer will head to the majors to provide a fresh arm for manager John Gibbons to use. Although he was used as a starter for the Bisons, the 28-year-old southpaw likely projects as a long reliever for the Blue Jays, although a spot start down the road certainly isn't out of the question.

Oberholtzer failed to record an out while giving up four runs on three hits and two walks in Thursday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander, who signed a minor-league deal with the Jays in December, has now given up seven runs on five hits and four walks while failing to record a strikeout over his first two spring appearances. Although it's awfully early in spring, Oberholtzer has put himself behind the eight ball in terms of making the 25-man roster.

Oberholtzer signed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays on Wednesday, FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman reports.
EDGE Analysis
He washed out with the Phillies and Angels last season, and should serve as pitching depth at Triple-A for the Jays in 2017. With a career 15.6 percent strikeout rate, it is hard to see Oberholtzer being fantasy relevant anytime soon.

Oberholtzer cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He posted a 5.89 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 70.1 innings in the big leagues last year, so it's no surprise he went unclaimed. He'll serve as organizational depth going forward.

Oberholtzer was designated for assignment Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Oberholtzer spent all of 2016 at the major league level but was a disaster for the most part, as he could only muster a 5.89 ERA and a 54:29 K:BB ratio. The left-hander is only 27 years old, but his peripherals are horrendous, making it unlikely that he'll be anything more than organizational depth going forward.

Oberholtzer will move to the bullpen going forward, the Los Angeles Times' Pedro Moura reports.
EDGE Analysis
Alex Meyer will take his place in the rotation, which comes as no surprise, as Oberholtzer lasted just one inning in his start Friday. He should serve in a mop-up role out of the bullpen over the final month.

Oberholtzer lasted just one inning Friday versus the Mariners, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks. The Angels were unable to climb out of the early hole, dooming him to his third loss of the season.
EDGE Analysis
The start couldn't have gone much worse for Oberholtzer, who was tasked with spelling the bullpen for as long as he could, as he was removed after laboring through just one frame with 49 pitches. His ERA now sits at a hefty 5.82 on the season, but he will still be permitted to take another turn in the rotation, which will come Wednesday against the Athletics.
