The Angels announced Friday that Oberholtzer will start Saturday's game against the Tigers, Pedro Moura of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Oberholtzer will take the spot of Jhoulys Chacin in the Angels' rotation. It's not clear if he will remain in the rotation beyond Saturday because the Angels will not need a fifth starter again until Sept. 6, but he will get at least one opportunity to show what he can do as a starter for the club who acquired him earlier this month.

Oberholtzer reported to the Angels on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Oberholtzer was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Tuesday after getting DFA'd by the Phillies on Saturday. He will join the club prior to their game against the Indians on Thursday. The southpaw has posted a 4.83 ERA with a 1.55 WHIP during 50.1 innings out of the bullpen in the majors this season.

Oberholtzer was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
After remaining on the waiver wire for several days following his DFA on Saturday, Oberholtzer was scooped up by the Angels. The 27-year-old compiled a 4.83 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 50.1 innings for Philadelphia this season and figures to provide bullpen depth if he makes his way to the majors with Los Angeles.

Oberholtzer was designated for assignment Saturday, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even though Oberholtzer is coming off four consecutive scoreless innings, the Phillies are sending him down to the minors on assignment as they call up Jake Thompson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Oberholtzer has compiled a 4.83 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 50.1 innings this year in the majors.

Oberholtzer pitched two scoreless innings of relief in a 5-4 victory over the Giants on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Oberholtzer came into the game with the Phillies down by four, he held the Giants scoreless while the Phillies' offense began chipping away at the lead. He will continue to be used in a mop-up and long relief role which limits his chances to provide useful fantasy stats given his poor strikeout rate.

Oberholtzer will remain in the bullpen, as the Phillies have elected to start Adam Morgan on Thursday in Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Oberholtzer had been in consideration for a spot start, but he now appears delegated for long relief. Given the tendency of Morgan to not pitch too deep into games, it wouldn't be surprising to see Oberholtzer contribute a few innings in that contest despite getting passed up for the start.

Oberholtzer and Adam Morgan are the likely options to start for the Phillies on Thursday in place of Aaron Nola, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nola is having his last start before the All-Star break skipped. Manager Pete Mackanin said the Phillies will make a decision by Wednesday regarding who will start Thursday against the Rockies.

Oberholtzer pitched a scoreless 10th inning while allowing one hit and striking out one to earn his first save of the year Wednesday at the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Oberholtzer came on to protect a one-run lead after Jeanmar Gomez had pitched 1.1 innings, leading to a rare save opportunity. Despite notching the save, this was only the third time in his last eight outings that he hasn't allowed a run to score, and his ERA is at 5.22 on the year.

Oberholtzer was tagged with a loss despite pitching four scoreless innings of relief Wednesday after Vince Velasquez exited his start after facing just one batter.
EDGE Analysis
Velasquez left his start with right biceps soreness and is likely going to require a stint on the disabled list. Oberholtzer is a candidate to take Velasquez's spot, but the Phillies could also consider going with Zach Eflin or David Buchanan. Oberholtzer has struggled adjusting to a relief role this season, but he does have a 3.84 ERA as a starter during his time with the Astros.

Oberholtzer earned a win with a scoreless inning of relief in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
The scoreless inning lowered Oberholtzer's ERA to 9.00. He has been used in long relief this season, primarily to mop up games that have gotten out of hand. He has added fuel to the fire most of the time, having given up eight home runs in his six outings.
