Escobar (thumb) is out of the lineup for Sunday's affair with the Red Sox, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar was scratched from Saturday's game with a left thumb strain and will take a spot on the bench again while recovering from the injury. There was a good chance the third baseman would miss Sunday's finale, but he did manage to play catch on the field prior to the contest. He should be considered day-to-day moving forward as Kaleb Cowart mans the hot corner in his absence.

Manager Mike Scioscia said Escobar is day-to-day after straining his left thumb diving for a ball in Friday's game, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar was a late scratch Saturday due to the ailment and it appears there's a good chance he'll miss Sunday's matinee as a precautionary measure. Cliff Pennington could be the beneficiary if the veteran third baseman if forced to miss extended time, though all indications point to a return as soon as possible.

Escobar was scratched from Saturday's lineup with a left thumb strain, Maria Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A strain is better than a "sprain," but even so, this could cost Escobar additional time. He was replaced at third base by Cliff Pennington in Saturday's lineup.

Escobar has been scratched from Saturday's starting lineup, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cliff Pennington enters the lineup at third base, while Andrelton Simmons moved up to the cleanup spot. A reason for Escobar's scratch was not immediately provided. He spent a few weeks on the DL with a hamstring injury earlier this season.

Escobar went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a pair of runs scored in Thursday's 10-5 win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran third baseman is batting .297 with not much else in 19 games since returning from the disabled list. An empty batting average can also describe the type of fantasy player Escobar has become over the years. That said, he has been batting cleanup for the Angels recently, potentially creating more RBI opportunities.

Escobar is out of the lineup Sunday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar will receive his first day off since being activated from the disabled list June 1 after a bout with a hamstring injury. The infielder has looked good over his first nine games back with a .333 average and .405 on-base percentage, but he has only one RBI and three runs to show for it. Luis Valbuena will cover third base while Escobar rests in the series finale.

Escobar (hamstring) was activated from the disabled list Thursday and is in the starting lineup against the Twins, batting cleanup and playing third base, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
As was thought to be the case, Escobar will in fact be activated in time for Thursday's contest. It's good timing for the Angels, who are currently dealing with injuries to regulars Mike Trout (thumb) and Cameron Maybin (side). Escobar should be in line for plenty of run-producing opportunities if he continues to bat cleanup moving forward. No corresponding move has been announced at this time.

Escobar (hamstring) could be activated Thursday against the Twins, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will play in a rehab game for High-A Inland Empire on Wednesday and that could be all the tuneup he needs. Escobar has missed 15 games with the injury and has recently ramped up running.

Escobar was placed on the disabled list with a strained hamstring, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Escobar was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and is expected to miss two-to-four weeks with the injury. While Escobar is out, Luis Valbuena and Cliff Pennington will both likely spend time at third base. Before landing on the disabled list, Escobar had hit 17 RBI and built a .272/.324/.411 line over 38 games.
