Chen (5-9) allowed six hits and two walks while striking out 10 across six scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Chen's 10 strikeouts were a season-best and he generated an impressive 15 swinging strikes in the process. He has turned in four strong August starts, allowing only four earned runs across 23.1 innings. Even with that stretch, his 4.91 ERA and 1.37 WHIP this season don't stand out. However, he has a 1.86 ERA in 63 innings at home this season, making him a viable streamer anytime he's pitching at Marlins Park.

Chen (4-9) allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks across six innings Sunday while taking the loss against the Mets. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Much of the major damage against Chen came via the long ball, including a two-run home run from Jose Reyes and a solo shot from Michael Conforto in the sixth which proved to be the difference. He could've easily fared better on the day, as Reyes' homer was preceded by an error and a wild pitch to keep the inning alive. Nevertheless, it was Chen's third quality start in the last five and the fourth time he'd allowed three earned runs or fewer in that stretch. He'll look to continue his recent success against the Nationals this weekend.

Chen's start will be moved back to Monday against the Cardinals, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Chen has struggled mightily on the road this season, owning a 10.27 ERA and allowing 11 of his 14 home runs away from Marlins Park. As a result, he will swap days with Dan Straily in the rotation, moving to Monday to better the team's chances in both contests. At home this season, Chen sports a 2.18 ERA with just a .208 opposing batting average, but the level of opposition remains rather equal.

Chen (3-8) allowed five runs on five hits and three walks across five innings Monday while taking the loss against the Braves. He recorded one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Chen allowed two runs in both the second and third innings before conceding another in the fifth. He gave up solo home runs to Freddie Freeman and Ronald Acuna, bringing his total to four long balls against in his last four starts. Chen's recent outings serve as a microcosm of his season -- he's delivered a pair of quality starts while allowing 12 earned runs over 9.1 innings in the other two. His ERA now sits at a hefty 5.86 to go along with a 1.49 WHIP and a 6.7 K/9. The veteran will look to bounce back this weekend against the Phillies.

Chen (3-7) earned the win Tuesday against the Braves by allowing three runs on five hits across six innings. He issued three walks and struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Chen has now tossed a quality start in four of his last five outings, although in the one non-quality start he allowed seven runs. The 33-year-old has a 5.65 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and unimpressive 61:31 K:BB, and lines up to face the Braves on the road next Monday.

Chen (2-6) gave up seven runs on seven hits -- including a home run -- over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Nationals on Saturday. He struck out three and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Chen dug a hole and Elieser Hernandez only made it deeper, allowing 10 earned runs in relief. While Chen has had a few decent starts this year -- he had turned in back-to-back quality starts coming into Saturday -- it's been far more bad than good (6.14 ERA, 1.55 WHIP) and the upside simply is not there. The lefty has struck out more than five just once in his 14 starts. He lines up to face the Phillies at home next week.

Chen allowed one unearned run on three hits in a no-decision Monday against the Rays, striking out five with no walks across six strong innings.
EDGE Analysis
Chen was remarkably effective at limiting baserunners and was only scored upon via a sacrifice fly after a man reached on an error in the fourth inning. He stifled the visitors the rest of the way and left with a shot at a win, but a late rally dashed his hopes in that respect. Still, Chen has delivered quality starts in three of his last four outings and has allowed just one earned run with a 10:1 K:BB across 12 innings over his last two starts. He'll look to continue his recent success this weekend against the Nationals.

Chen (2-5) was a tough-luck loser Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Chen threw 60 of his 88 pitches for strikes and allowed just one extra-base hit, as he stifled the Arizona bats for much of the evening. His offense couldn't pick him up though -- getting shutout into the bottom of the ninth -- and he was dealt a second straight loss as a result. The lefty has tossed a pair of quality starts in his last three outings, but the results for the bulk of the year have been significantly worse. Over 55.2 innings, the 32-year-old has a 6.14 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 41:25 K:BB. He'll aim to get back in the win column Tuesday against the Rays.

Chen (2-3) earned the win Saturday against the Orioles, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk across six innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Chen dealt with baserunners throughout this one, but he was able to limit the damage to a two-run single and a solo homer en route to his second win of the season. It was just the left-hander's second quality outing in 10 starts this season, however, leaving him with an unsightly 5.91 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 33:23 K:BB through 45.2 innings. Things won't get any easier Chen's next time out, which will come on the road against the Rockies.

Chen allowed four runs on six hits and four walks across 4.1 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Giants. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Chen battled through adversity through the early stages and managed to go into the fifth inning with just one run against his ledger. He fell apart at that juncture, however, allowing three runs on two hits, three walks and a balk before his removal. Chen hasn't experienced much success of late and has now allowed 10 earned runs over 10.1 innings in his last three starts. He'll look to right the ship as he takes a 6.13 ERA into this weekend's matchup with the Orioles.
